Which is better in regards to the highest level of Australian recognised educational qualification; Higher School Certificate or Certificate III?

An old girlfriends dad who did a bit of hiring for Downer EDI told me once when he looks at job applications he didn't even care about schooling, was more concerned about previous experience and related tickets/licenses.

Obviously only really applies to a Trade related job

Thats why i said it only really applies to a trade related job. Which you can still get in gov for a little bit longer if your lucky.

Whilst that may have some relevance, I would prefer giving them everything over missing out on things. The only real schooling I have on my resume for example is my high school and Higher School Certificate. Everything else includes tickets, experience, past jobs, etc. I only asked as Fire and Rescue NSW has opened recruitment as well which I've just applied for. I selected Certificate III being higher than HSC.
