I was actually reading about a more cost effective way to get aerial shots the other day, which involved a tri-axis gimbal attached to a 5m blimp with 4 small electric motors and a big ass tether cable.
Sounded interesting.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,right off.

I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;
"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

That would be good Shaz, but controlling it at heights with any amount of wind is going to be hard...
I found it hard controlling my quad when it was bout 40m up in the air, but there were strong winds blowing that day.... but yeah, a gimble always helps most of the way... but you'd need an expensive gimble for your slrs...

Haha.. good old BangGood... LOL!
That quad should be fun... just don't crash it like I did mine... LOL!
Will be fixing it up on the weekend and taking it on the next cruise...
Do it Adam!
I bought a
jeepquad ...hasn't arrived yet.
Reckon it would suit my needs? Basically learn to fly, and just muck around with. It's the step up from the one Mark bought because it's a 6 axis.

Apparently they are stable upto around 25km/h of wind.
I'd be hesitant to agree though, I reckon it would rock around something fierce.

Yeah man, it'll do...I kind of wish I got a simple one to fly, but the one I got was quite advanced with the GPS and stuff in the chip, so it was already easy enough to fly(and crash)

Thats not too bad... but the heavier the payload, in your case, the gimble and the camera, the more unstable it'll be...

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Ho do you propose to transport it? Does it run on helium? Do you need to have a helium tank??

@Adam.
It could run just from the hot air coming out of your mouth.
no

Haha... no worries Shaz... you know where I'll be, so if you need any specific footage, just let me know... I'll be filling the 32gb card on the gopro with video anyway... and yeah Tim, I'll be more careful, as long as it isn't stupidly windy on the day...
