We saw 5 houses over the space of 2 months, didn't like them all, gave up, went for a drive to the shops, pulled out of our street and saw a house for sale, and it was an open day, so checked it out and made an offer there...

Trying to decide if it's too risky to run my car on the dyno tomorrow.

I personally wouldn't run it.

I doubt anything would go wrong but from what you have said about the wagon I would be giving it a miss just incase.

We looked at 2 houses in the same day and bought the second one.

Nope NAA . But the market is starting to go though alittle growth. So where we are looking to buy, A house worth $360k people are trying $420K. Shitting me no end.
