No idea what condition the current lines are in tbh. And if I'm gonna update everything else may aswell just do it properly and run braided lines

make sure you get ones that are to Australian standards you can tell by the extra band on the end of the lines. some lines from overseas may not have this feature and if it fails although unlikley to happen, you could find your insurance company voiding a claim in an accident

Yeah for sure, going to be getting HEL braided lines through Rhys from at Wolf Racing since they've got them on special at the moment

HEL, Goodridge, Stoptech are all ADR compliant. For the sake of a few hundred dollars I'd replace the oem rubber ones to complete the brake upgrade.

Funny enough, I contacted HEL to ask why their 6 line kit for Gen3/4 was $60 more for me to buy it direct in Australia than for me to buy it landed from HEL in the UK. The wanted $280 locally, $220 from the UK. They didnt even offer to drop the price and then people complain why we dont buy locally manufactured items.

I ended up buying a Goodridge kit from the UK for $201 to my door.

Yeah definitely, in the bigger picture it's worth the extra bit of money.

Is there much of a difference in the 3 brands as far as quality etc?

So I do need a 6 line kit to make Brembos work on my Gen 3?

Seems odd that they wouldn't price match for you though..

You don't need the 6 line kit, but it sort of defeats the purpose of getting braided lines if you leave 2 of them standard.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

They have 4 lines on the back.

I don't see the need for brembos. But if you want it, Do it.

I'm running Spec.B fronts (316mm) and GT-B rears (290mm)

With RDA slotted/dimpled rotors front and rear.

Braided lines and rda extreme pads.

They out brake the car. Love it.

I'm assuming I'll need a 6 line kit then?

Not really.

But your wasting time not doing the other ones, won't get the full benefits.

Gen3 and Gen4 Liberty lines are the same so a listing for either will work.

Cheers Mark, does it change if I've got a Legacy and not a Liberty though?
