Bonnet struts in your Gen 3

They work and I did have to change some things. They're just a bit flimsy on the bracket above the bonnet hinge.
But much better over stock. Nothing in your way when working under the bonnet and much tidier look.
I chocked the bonnet support Rubber to clear the strut
I also had to but back the bonnet seal a bit so the strut could sit flat
Here is how I mounted the bracket, I'm thinking if I redrilled the hole on top, it would be stronger, but I don't know if it will clear the guard afterwards
Sorry about the poor lighting
I think tuning is a crime of passion, or maybe a labour of love. Either way it furiates and excites me.

I installed mine today. Yeah, bracket is a bit flimsy. Dunno why they didn't make it to utilise both bonnet mount bolts. I had to turn my brackets inwards a bit to clear the fenders. I ended up just ditching the rubber stopper in the fender sills.
Did you find you have to pull pretty hard on the bonnet to bring it back down? Mine does, and it feels like the brackets are going to explode when i do..

Well, it's about mid-range Aek. It's neither total shite nor bling. It's functional and it works but not much thought has been put into the brackets. I mean 1 bolt to hold it onto the bonnet? Sheeeeeeeesh

Ive got the same ones fitted to the GTB. I think theyre pretty good for the cost of $50.
Prova ones also only have one mount for the bonnet. Same, same really.

I am happy with it, it's functional. I just need to modify it somewhat. I don't think it needs to use both bolts for mount, but it should come with a longer bolt and a thicker mounting plate, but for $50 it does the job

So having just looked at my own photos, i have come to the conclusion i did a shoddy job. Just went outside and adjusted the brackets over a bit more so the bolt is closer to the middle of the T shaped cut away. The angled bit with the ball is now flush against the bonnet. Much better.

I'm thinking about drilling out the top hole. To get rid of the movement, but I think it will put the strut out too far and hit the guard.

My bolt is in the middle of the T intersection hard up against the bonnet.
