Hey Guys,

Looking to start cleaning up and tidying up my engine bay with some cosmetic enhancement.

First looking to replace the radiator hoses then replace and fix (if any) vacuum hoses then anything else that would need to be done.

Can anyone please suggest or point me in the right direction where i can start or if anyone here has done DIY step by step?

Any useful info would be really appreciated.

Cheers.

Going to follow this thread, because I have 15m of vac hose waiting to go into my B4.

Should be as simple as pull out a hose, measure it, cut the new one, and replace the hose you just removed with the new one. Will take time, but shouldn't be able to mess up that way, just got to watch out for restrictor pills and not breaking anything else at the same time.

I did Mbooma"s yesterday.

Don't use the crap from Supercheap auto!!!!!

You need 10 meters of 3mm internal diameter hose if you are going to do them all...including the BBOD. 4mm ID hose is slightly too big and the pills may move.
There a four restrictor pills... Wait.... Isn't your car converted to single?

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

No biggie. Once the pills are in place just cable tie them if you can make them move by squeezing the hose. Probably be OK without the cable ties anyway mate.

OEM hose ID is 3.5mm

I like beers.

Good Idea though. Won't help John as he's in Melbourne.

Might try and get a tech BBQ organised.

I can't remember... is the larger hose 5 or 6mm ????

It's good to get some of that too for the end reducer connections, boost solenoid and front manifold lines. 1 meter would cover it with heaps left over. Mboomas were ratshit, so were mine when I did them last year..... or was it the year before? Memory failing with age & beer.

I got some silicone hose from this guy in Sydney. Very good prices, I think.

His shop (more of a warehouse lock-up) is pretty funny.  Lets just say his focus is more fiddling with his own cars and racing. Selling stuff to punters seems to be something needed to support the habit :)

He does have a very wide selection of nice looking gear, though.

bugger... could have saved myself  30c AND had the thrill of wondering if I'd get some cheap PVC.

I missed out big time there.

Don't get me wrong, this guy didn't have attitude (unlike MRT who seem to want to gouge at any opportunity).. he is just a bit, lets say, disorganised.   In a nutty mechanic sort of way.

just get the hoses from your local auto store. Keep you monies in Aus guys. Most of my parts I source locally, I love a bargain but most of the time its not worth it.

And lets get a date down and get this BBQ B4 Fixit weekend going =] anyone wanna donate their yard for a day ? you'll get rep points ++
