I got some silicone hose from this guy in Sydney. Very good prices, I think.

I've seen it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper.

Proof

bugger... could have saved myself  30c AND had the thrill of wondering if I'd get some cheap PVC.

I missed out big time there.

Uuuuum.... maths not your thing hey???

Here, let me help.

$10 (3m hose) minus $2.97 (3m hose) equals $7.03 in the bank.

Here I'll do it like they did in school....

10.00-

 2,97

7.03

And the stuff you buy at Supercheap or" locally" is most likely imported from China anyway.

Mine was good stuff. Better quality than the shit I looked at here prior to ordering.

ahhh - see I read that as "3M" (as in Minnesota Mining Manufacturing) Hose, priced per 'm' (little M).

Stupid me.

However.. it is only 1mm wall thickness, so I'm not sure its up to the job.

Stuff I got was 4mm ID, 2mm wall thickness.  Mucho betterer.

Pirtek, do they have the right hoses? I thought they mainly did hydraulic hoses.

My local Pirtek seem to stock all kinds of hose.. I snapped the old vac line off my BOV and they had the replacement in stock. So yeah, they seem to have the right hoses

Yup Duncanm, the 2mm wall is so much better.

The stuff I used yesterday (Not my choice) must have been 1mm walled. Kinked like a bitch. Especially on the 6mm ID hose. So not worth the $$$ spent.

I might have been lucky with the stuff I got when I did my lines.

No complaints at all though. It's 2mm wall thickness and is stretchy and flexible as well as being firm.

It holds the internal shape well.

For the rego rims.

I did Mbooma"s yesterday.

Don't use the crap from Supercheap auto!!!!!

You need 10 meters of 3mm internal diameter hose if you are going to do them all...including the BBOD. 4mm ID hose is slightly too big and the pills may move.
There a four restrictor pills... Wait.... Isn't your car converted to single?

Oh that would be awesome to get a hand.

Where to get the best hose from?

Yes, been converted to single VF35, does that make a difference in number of hoses? Less or more?

sounds like a backyard B4 beer session is in order lol

I like beers.

Good Idea though. Won't help John as he's in Melbourne.

Might try and get a tech BBQ organised.

I would've been more than happy to supply a beer and bbq day if we were all close by ffs!!!

Try stick to rubber or whatever is factory.

Silicone is porus which is not great for radiator hoses.

John, yes mate you now have way less lines than a TT set up. I'm not exactly sure how many pills a single set up would have, I assume 2.

One in the vac line that runs to the T off the turbo (unless you have a manual boost tee fitted)And the second in the vac lines T'd into the line that runs off the BOV (Unless you have a single vac line from the manifold to an aftermarket BOV)

Probably best to squeeze & check each line as you replace them.  Make sure you do only one line at a time to avoid fork ups.

You won't need 10 meters of line either. Maybe half that, or less even.

Be careful not to snap any connector nipples when you are removing lines from plastic connections. Best to cut them off.... carefully.

Any questions? If you get stuck just post up some photos of your problems here and we'll be able to help.
