Ah I wouldn't say its a bad thing.

 

You get more intake noise without it.  Saying that I did put mine back in because the engine noise was getting to me.

Nothing wrong with a little forced induction noise = ]

Yes, this is what happens. I hear a lot of intake noise, like as if there is a huge hole in my firewall. Lol! Oh well

Well I don't need a car, already got 2 pretty much, but yeah, always just fun looking around.

 

Still with all I'm spending on the B4, selling it wouldn't be very logical. Might have to keep it forever, at least least till it dies

Zac, on the TT day have a go in my B4. You'll be completely amazed at the noise. It sounds like a screamer pipe is attached to my compressor inlet. Apparently the bigger the turbo goes the more noise i'm going to get.

If it's done with a cai then yeah.

Without the resonator out it sounded alright for a while then I grew tired of it. I'm happy I put it back in.

I'm thinking my next mod will be a new exhaust for the car, I'd love it to sound better. I think my current 3inch pipe from the catback isn't doing all that well, and probably the cat has to go too, been hearing a rattle for a metal rattle for a while when hitting boost, mostly when going uphill. Lol!

I think I need a resonator in mine. I only have a hyperflow CAI thingybob. I was trying to get the stock airbox put back in but it was too hard to remove the CAI =[

Haha, second car is a Lancer mate, bought it so my sister could drive it, and is it a manual, so I can thrash it around if I want to, or when she is done with it. Auto B4 ain't as fun as a manual obviously, but still does the job

 I remember Aek was hitting someone up on the exhaust. He said they were making him a heaps mad quiet one. I'd love to get onto that action as well. I really really hate the loudness of my exhaust. I caved into MSR saying I needed a bigger pipe as the 2.5inch was killing it. I have a 3" now and it is pumping a bucket load flow but its loud as the Sun during the day.

 

I think anything to keep it quiet is a ++ in my book. Cat swap it for a high flow. Get as many mufflers / good hotdog as you can get.

Time for me to get a non-Subaru for sure. Whenever it Sack's, it will be a new marque. Otherwise I'll be a one brand man at the age of 30 - barring a Honda Oddy' for my first car (not long).

Thanks Will. I don't mind the noise as much now, though I'm an old man. I like the rumble, but I hate the drone of the Auto when cruising. Missus and baby also like the loud exhaust, so will have to have a bit of noise still.

 

Full exhaust system ain't cheap, so might have to sus it out. Not even sure if my cat is screwed or not, but a high flow wouldn't be a bad thing. Just rather get it all done at once
