True that, although last time I went NZ I flew on Thurs, came back Monday. Had to fly to Christchurch then drive to Qtown, but was an epic drive, do recommend, felt like Frodo.

 

3hr flight Syd-Christchurch or Syd-Qtown, 3-4hr drive to slopes. If i was in ACT I'd defs be staying local.

Not cheaper to go to NZ when you have a season pass that an I don't think they have any snow yet either.

4hr drive for me. NZ looks cheap. But it always busts out on price. Plus I've never had good snow there.

Last time I went to NZ me and my girl got $300 return ticket, which was 2 for 1, so it cost us $300 total in air fares, and then $300 in car hire (because I wanted to see the Lakes). And then $500 for accommodation, but it was pretty fancy, good views of the Remarkables.

 

I just feel ripped off when I stay in Aus, like I said, if it were convenient I'd stay local, but given the the times are similar NZ just feels like a better deal, plus Queenstown is boss.

 

But at the end of the day, just got to go where the snow is.

Completely agree, except wanaka is boss. The night life isn't as good, but the snow/mountains are heaps better bru.
