Note: I could have replaced just the master cylinder and been done with it. This is a bad idea as the slave cylinder is now the weak point in the system and could fail at any time in the near future. It's always good practice to replace them with the same brand of product and both at the same time. If my car didn't have a braided line already and it was fitted with the old OEM line, I would advise replacing this at the same time when replacing the master/slave.

This.

I should have done master, slave and hose on the RX when I did the clutch last year.

Now I have a leaking hose. :)

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

That's the doc's car!
I've asked him a billion questions over the last year. Legend.

My build was going to be supercharged until I did the research and worked out the cost.

He's always had issues ever since it first went on. It really turned me off the idea in the end.

Besides having to move the ABS pump, wasn't it mainly due to it being an 30D and not a 30R?

Valve float at 6000rpm under full load, ABS "Relocation", Headgasket leakage, A dodgy wrx injector install, The supercharger crapped out and needed a rebuild, 3x 4eats and engine lights weekly.

Good to see somebody thinking outside the box and going about things differently. That takes balls. It goes well.

I couldn't see my car being reliable and supercharged. If you want power, Build a EJ.

Just my opinion :)

I love turning the key and giving it a hard time knowing that it's pretty much a tuned OEM car that's not even close to the limit of what the EZ30 is capable of doing.

Safe and sound.

I like it for the fact its JDM and not the same as every other Gen3 going around.

I do however agree its too much chrome. I would have painted the inside bars black and left the chrome outer to dull it a little bit.

I had the GT30 grill on my Gen3 and I liked it but I can understand what Cam is saying -- its a bit shiny!!

Cam, I saw your post earlier in the week RE: 100RON tune. Now that you've had it for long enough, just wanted to see if you had any further observations? Must feel a tad nicer and maybe better fuel economy? I'm getting that (re)tune in 3-weeks...

Aren't they phasing out the 100RON fuel?

I have driven 650km's on 100RON so far. Bloody love it and so does the car!
Economy is the same (Have only done 200km's on the freeway, So mainly around town) and the car pulls harder/runs smoother.

I'm doing a all freeway run with no stops to Byron Bay from St Huberts Island on 100RON this Thursday coming. I'll report back with fuel consumption data.

Pat is correct, United are phasing out 100RON :(

I've got my 98 tune on the laptop ready to go if they remove it from stations all of a sudden.

Thanks for the response Cam. Good to know...

Unfortunately within 10-mins of asking my question, I read all the stuff about 100RON being phased out...:(

Ah well, I'll just get mine tuned for E85 with a flex tune.
