And I still managed to get 3 loads of washing done today, put my motorbike back together and cook dinner :P

I guess not having to go to work helps :)

Rob showed up today and after we threw some spanners at his rig, then we got to work on the shitbox. First of we did a compression test, spark plug holes had a shitload of oil in them. But the compression tested all good 180-185 across the board. Not too worried about the oil cause the VRS kit will have suitable gaskets/seals to fix this.

Luckily my new rotors showed up this morning (thanks Matt) So we could install them with these QFM pads, which i think are awesome at $55 a pair.10351518_10204414615387817_2611811815657

Went for a quick spin up the pub for a few beers. feels a lot better

Then the old fuel filter in a gen3…. Don't know what the fuss is, me and Rob had it done in less then 10mins :D

Massive thanks to Rob for organising all the parts and coming out :)

I think at some point, you will no longer be able to call it a 'shitbox'. :)

You make doing a head gasket look easy Scuba-roo -.-

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

Nah i didnt joel. See how it goes. I put aviation sealant on the new head gaskets anyway so that should help a bit too :P

If its still forked i'll strip the motor completly and do it all properly with genuine suby seals etc.

That xr6 has stockies all round :( he likes that they are cheap and good on dirt roads....

It is easy, undo nuts and bolts, then do them back up... It can be annoyong and some bolts are fiddley but its hardly rocket science.
