You'd need a pretty serious machine to run an OSX virtual machine and then run Xcode and the iOS simulator (which can be a hefty drain on resources by itself.
Have you looked into building your app with something like Cordova?
It's been a while since I've dabbled in app dev (I'm in web) but using Cordova should allow you to publish the same base code to both platforms

Computer power shouldnt be an issue. That said its been a while since ive used the android studio and its gone from 0.x to 2.1 and the emulator runs like a bag of dicks now.
Also no i havent but ill have a captain cook at it now
Edit: Seems like you write in web code then its API allows access to the device stuff? Ehhhh the whole idea of this, to me at least, was a full native app. Also its a learning thingy and something for a portfolio one day

+1 for Droid here, running Droid 6.0.1 on a hexacore Phablet... my other half is the Apple head of the family, she's the iPhone junky.
