I was looking forward to seeing updates on this car :)

The black surround on the grill makes it look a little tougher imo.

I always thought the bootspace in the gen 5 was smaller looking from the outside but i stand corrected.

How much more light does that light bar put out matey?

As we all know that the Gen 3 high beams are absolutely woeful.

Nice job of the switch placement too.

I took some comparison pics of the light bar vs my high beams

I rarely use the high beam now haha. It throws out way more then the high beam for sure.

Next time i'm out i might snap a few pictures of it and post them up here.

Looks good mate.  I love the fact you went for the straight through rear pipe - total P plater move!  Even better is that you decided it was crap like that anyway and went for a set of aftermarket UEL extractors.

What's next?

Cheers

Thanks! :) I had a bit of fun with the straight pipe but in the end it was way too loud and did not suit the car at all haha

The drone was ridiculous i'm usually pretty used to drone from the v8s my parents own but this was a whole new level of drone.

It is near stock volume now with the new muffler on and with the UEL headers it still has a nice sound when i'm really giving it some.

Next thing should be a lift. I'm thinking roughly a 2" lift maybe even less.

I cant take my car as many places as i take the subaru brumby on the farm because of the front of my car hitting every single ditch as i come down some places so i think this might fix that.

I found a picture of what it may look like when i get it done.

Hello,

I have done a few things since i last posted

The first thing was to get a straight through muffler welded on because i was right about it being too droney on long trips.

Then once i got that done i started working on taking my stock headers off.

I failed to take the nuts off the cat and no amount of wd 40 was helping.

Ended up getting it off by grinding away the nut and hammering it.

The easy part was taking the headers off the engine because it had already been off when the previous owner had the engine out.

Then i put on the new Uel headers which was super easy

I'm extremely happy with the sound it makes when driving, it's definitely not loud but has a nice burble which is exactly what i was looking for.

Moving forward a couple of weeks i then decided to put my lightbar on properly

I wasn't happy with the way it was sitting when i first put it on so i drove to bunnings and bought a piece of aluminium. I cut and drilled holes to try and lower the lightbar down below the stock mount points on the nudgebar and now it is exactly where i wanted it.

It doesn't shake as much as i thought it would when driving which is what i was worried about because the aluminium is fairly thin.

Next was to run the wiring through the firewall so i could wire in a second subaru foglight switch i bought to make it look stock.

I just used tiny speaker connectors to put on the pins in the back of the switch and i had to bend the pins out so they didn't touch but overall it works so im happy with that.

I printed out a small logo on sticker paper to put onto the switch (not needed but i did it anyway.)

I put my suby club sticker on the other day too after putting on my nudgebar :)

The next thing on the list is a uhf antenna mount on the nudgebar so i can finally put my antenna on.

But so far this is where i stand with my car
