A job has just been posted up on Seek for an architectural draftsperson (entry level) for a private company one suburb away from mine. That's fucking awesome. 10 minute drive to work and back. Applied. Fingers crossed.

$18/hr reviewed after 3 months + bonuses, but I will be trained to manage and coordinate entire applications from concept design to completion. It could be a stepping stone for something better in the future either in the same company or a different one...

Pretty shit hey, but I guess as an entry level that's what I should expect... It would only be for three months until after the review.

Seeing as you're in the industry 'dam, what would an entry level wage be like? Let's just assume for argument's sake that they will increase the rate after the three month review. It is a full time position too.

Fair enough. Do you know the pay of someone you work with at the moment that would be closest to entry level?

I'm the only draftsman here :P

From memory I was on about $19 as a first year apprentice some time back. And I've never spoken to anyone else about pay rates :)

I'd happily have $18-$19p/hour right now

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

I'm not too far above that rate either, and I'm a casual at the moment... Sometimes you've just gotta sacrifice short-term to benefit long-term.
