Beer

Also, I have this fkn possum that is eating the shit out of one of the trees in my backyard. The tree is a decent size, maybe 4m tall and the little shit has eaten damn near every leaf on it.

I caught the little bastard again tonight chomping away so I blasted it with the hose on full bore, stupid cubt won't learn, this is about the tenth time I have saturated it. Even got it fair up the ring hole from close range at full pressure.

Got my car back.

Jebus, he didn't fork around getting that sorted.

Agree

I'm happy. :P

The car is running extremely well!

One downfall. The tow truck driver buckled my rear passenger side wheel. He is checking it out tomorrow and will be taking it to one of his two panel beater workshops (not sure if he owns them or just knows the people) to get it repaired... Should I accept it or force him to take the wheel where I want it to be repaired?

I wouldn't be comfortable with a repaired wheel... I'd be giving him the bill for a new one from sti

Gaz, you don't think your engine problems are to do with the tune do you?

I think it was more to do with a large radiator leak?

Haha Jase.

Gary doesn't use a radiator, allows his engine to warm up quicker and go faster.

All issues may have contributed, from the radiator leak to the tune. I guess one thing in the equation contributed more so it screwed up everything else. I'm not solely blaming the tune, but I would rather be safe in running it stock than forking out more money.

Another Kido Tune to the rescue... :P

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

I'm not blaming him, but it MAY have contributed to the overall issue. The new engine is running perfectly and I'm really happy with the workmanship and attention to detail. Stock tune is now loaded again too and seeing as I won't be needing it any more, I may just be selling my Tactrix.

Urgh, just masked up my dash and opened it up to see what I need to do for stereo install. Such a pain wiring in Navigation Unit, just found the Parking Brake wire, still have to find VSS wire.

Need to pay another visit to Jaycar for supplies.

"not blaming him, but"

"I'm not racist, but"..................

That's like blaming your exhaust for your tyres going flat.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

No it's not. The tune may have contributed to the overall issue coming sooner, but the issue was not caused by the tune being run on the car. I'm not the tuner so I don't care about my reputation being affected or not. I couldn't care less.

I suspect the radiator was the issue Gaz. Modern engines, especially ones with marginal head gaskets, can't cop being cooked. I suspect that you may have even lost enough coolant that the temp sender unit was no longer tracking coolant temp, but more like air temp as the coolant level had drop below the sensor. When this occurs it is not uncommon for the sender to produce a signal that equals far less than the actual engine temp. In effect the temp gauge starts to fall even though engine temp is rising.

Mine has had a tune, one that I know little about as it was tuned when I bought it, but the Subaru workshop that looked after the car indicated that a tune works well as it reduces the H6's natural tendency to detonate and will produce a little more power while using less fuel. Detonation kills engines, and places head gaskets under more stress.

I think you are correct in your decision to go for a dyno tune, as a good tuner can do a better job than open source IMO.

still have to find VSS wire.

What sort of car Niko?

What sort of car Niko?

MY10 Forester.

USDM boys say it's under glove box.

Have to wire in park brake from the actual park brake, can't see it anywhere else, might be under steering wheel but safer to go from source.

Got harness from Dave of ae64.com, so all good on everything else, but need wire to reach park brake and some more/better connectors.
