I wouldn't mind an Airtrek.

Basically an old Outlander with an Evo engine.

So essentially an STi Foz...

But yes, Ash, I agree. That would be killer!

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Torona, Ford Gt, Monaro GTS, Camaro SS............................

I'd be happy to own any of them.

Morning.

How much does a second hand engine cost?

Shouldn't be too bad. Generally H6's dont give as much trouble as the turbo engines.

Pretty sure it's seized.

Who diagnosed this?

Did you shut the engine down, or did it die on it;'s own after a major drop in power output?

Is it slow to crank?

In nearly 30 odd years I have never seen an engine seize due to a head gasket.

I have seen plenty cooked beyond belief but they all turned over. Some needed the plugs removed to let the water out as they were hydraulically locked and the alloy heads softened to something resembling cheddar cheese.

I honestly believe that if you shut it down in time, a skim of the heads, some gaskets and fix the cooling system and you'll be sweet.

I prefer this

Pffft.

Shitbox Torana

I'm getting it checked out properly tomorrow when I get it towed. With someone who specialises in Subaru. Not some random workshop.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

AAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH......

FARKME!!!!!!!!!

Some managers are complete and utter forking muppets.

I sent the manager at one of my jobs an email on 15/6 expressing my concerns at a program a client has requested that I deliver (I have done this program before and the client was very happy)

On 25/6 he requests I resend the email as he lost it.

On 25/7 I updated him with my available dates (due to other work commitments).

On 30/7 I requested he meet with me before committing to said program dates.

I get CCed in on an email today confirming the date with the client.

The idjit has booked it for dates that I'm not available!!!!

Now the only option is to bring the program forward which leaves me four days to prepare, when my first email indicated that I need at least a week.

I'm sick to death of cubts who bend over for people and agree to shit without checking the facts or any form of planning, it just makes for a massive headfuk that need not happen.

I should give him both barrels and tell him to fork off and find someone else.

So until they check it over you really don't know exactly what's needed to fix it?

Ha Jase, you have such shit luck with management. I went into Head Office and told my boss about all the gripes my team had today, was fixed before I got back to our site.

Clearly you don't work for a government department.

This is the same shit management team I have always been forked off with. Im now just employed in a different manner, one that allows me to pick and choose what I do.

So until they check it over you really don't know exactly what's needed to fix it?

It was an early morning call that woke me up, so perhaps I didn't comprehend the full information. What I do know is that he said I will need a new engine and gave me a quote. Tomorrow afternoon I should be able to get a better understanding when my guy checks it out though. Then I will have the full details and will know whether a new engine is exactly what I need or whether I could get away with a cheaper and still full-proof fix.

SubyDr?

Nope.

I would be interested in what diagnosis steps he used to arrive at the conclusion you need a new engine.

It may well be based on cost alone, but i would still be finding out exactly what is wrong with the original motor and why it needs to be replaced.

I agree. All will be revealed tomorrow or Wednesday.

I'm actually leaning towards it being the head gasket. Fingers crossed that's all it is.
