New plan
Marry a 22 year old female with a perfect driving history.
Both cars go in her name and add me as additional driver = ~$700 pa.

I am with shannons, I have a lets say tarnished driving record, been with them since I turned 21 and at that point in time it was $1600 a year insured for 24K and a $500 excess, free windscreen every year if I required it .

They are great with claims too, unlike your AAMI and people like that you dont have to take your car to one of their gay centres for an inspection when you make a claim before the car can be taken to the repair shop. I drop mine at the repair shop I want, assesor turns up and approves what he needs and then pisses off until the job is done.

Being out in the rural district gives me a lot more freedom with JC than I would if I were in the city. It's a bit of bollocks the old 'take to whoever you want' - they still have to be an approved MTS insurance authorized shop don't they? I can't get my mate Bazza from Bazza's Autos to repair my front bar and get the claim paid through him... can I?

When I was getting my RX repaired I asked where it was going anf it was pretty much a case of "whoever gives the best quote".
I would never go back there again though.

I don't have to, cos I'm in a "regional" area... when I was looking at getting the dent fixed I called them and all I need is 3 quotes, and it goes to the one I want as long as their quote isn't hugely more than the others.
