Here's the one we have at work:

http://www.au.jura.c..._x9_platine.htm
(but it also has a mini-fridge next to it)

Makes a good coffee but the beans seem a little bit bitter since we changed suppliers.

Just looked up the price, fuck having one of them at home. $7300 on special.

Needed to be, I love my coffee's... went thr 6 different Sunbeam/Brevilles and none (even their $4-500 ones) lasted for more than 6 months. The Rancilio's have all brass internals, their basically a small version of what they use in cafes.

Good beans and your 90% on the way to a good coffee. I get my beans from the cafe I go to.

My sister won a shopping trolley of groceries from some raffle.

So we're using Lavazza atm.

Ugh.

Bitter.

I can't believe I used to drink that tripe when I was at uni.

But then again, fresh out of high school, everything that isn't sold at the high school canteen tastes awesome.

Need to get me some from here.

This is our coffee machine at work...

Posted Image

We have a van that comes around every morning.
Screw that, she charges $4 a coffee
one per day = $20
Working 48 weeks a year on average = $960
Just for coffees at work
And then most people here buy one on the way to work and probably on the way home too...

Auto-machines are shit TBH. Ask any coffee nut. Ever wonder why cafes don't use them?? The one I have is one of the best small machines you can buy... Rancilio review

As for beans, when you find one you like, you stick with it for as long as possible.

Each different bean you use you need to adjust your grind to get the best result. Usually takes 5 or 6 goes slightly differing the grind each time till you get the right one. Then when the weather changes it affects the grind and you need to use a slighly diff one. What ends up happening is you spend most of your time and a shit load of beans getting a nice cup only to have to do it all over again. That's why good cafes stick to one brand of coffee. Using the same bean you can learn the diff grinds and then adjust "automatically" (know which setting to use). I sometimes change my grind between my morning and mid-morning coffee depending on the weather.

I didn't even read the full Auto bit, they are crap for sure. We even have some auto buttons on our three group that are NOT TO BE USED for fear of death from a bad coffee being served.

This guy was the WEGA I was thinking of.

A lot of those reviews are negative, Buzz?

Yep, temp and humidity change it.... a good cafe will actually change their grind during the day. Also only grind what you need at one time, goes stale very quick.

Yep I remember hearing a dude talking about how the beans are a plant product and go 'off' with age just like any other fruit / veg etc....mine stay in an airtight container and only get ground just before i use them.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Now THAT'S A COFFEE MACHINE!!

Few bad ones but plenty more good ones. You always gonna have haterz.

Yeah it's ridiculous how quick it turns, something like 30sec after they're ground.

Good man, another tip is to keep em in the fridge (not freezer).

I think you're supposed to keep them in something with a one way valve as the beans give off CO2

Stuff goes here
