acres - do you basically specialise in Dog's with the food you sell or do you know a thing or two about birds?

Where we are now we kind of cater mainly for dogs but our previous location we specialised in birds, rats and fish. I have also done a bit of bird breeding myself.
What would you like to know?

Pretty Keen on knowing what to feed the little buggers. I have two Cockateils.. they just wont eat fresh fruit or even dried fruits.
I give them shell grit and cuttle fish and they lap that up.

Is seed pretty much seed when it comes to bird seed?

Haha, cockatiels are great little characters, I have a real soft spot for them. I still have about a dozen of my old breeders in a cage down the back.

Is seed seed? Most definitely not. Cockatiels, like all cockatoos (and most natives), require a very low fat diet. As such they need a mix with the correct ratio of low to high fat seeds. Seeds like sunflower are way to fatty though and should never be fed to them. I will take a pic of what a good mix looks like tomorrow for you.
They don't really eat fruit, too much sugar for them anyway, but they should get some veggies in their diet. Basically any leafy greens - celery, spinach, silverbeet, etc. And they love fresh corn on the cob too.
Shellgrit and cuttlebone are great - good source of minerals and roughage.

The other alternative is to use a pellet diet such as passwell or vetafarm.

awesome - thanks mate! yeah they are little champions.. sooky little buggers. They have sunflower seeds in their seed but they don't eat those anyway.

Freaking awesome honeymoon. Had a ball.

Only 40 pages while I was gone. Poor.

Haha I poo'd soo much! All they do is cook and all I did was eat

Plane was delayed 4 hours in Phuket so waited around for 6 hours (arrived 2 hours early). Got home around 5pm last night and had a gig to be at, at 5:30!
Packed the car full of drums and turned the key. Not even a 'tick, tick, tick'... two weeks of sitting there and I get a completely dead battery. Couldn't even jump it.
Katie's dad brought his battery charger over today and that didn't even help but he has a mate. Getting a HD battery for $70 tomorrow! (Std one was $50).
That's my story.

Pretty much been setting up house ever since. It's actually pretty fun.
New kitchen is fully operational and getting good use
