So stoked that the undercover let me off last night.. She reckons I was doing between 80 - 100km/h, in a 60 zone along Anzac Pde. Turn down music, act polite, have manners.. "have a good night sir and please slow down". :drinks:

Shazza, serious banking question. Am contemplating a commercial loan as I'm sick of paying rent. What are the requirements for a 500k loan? Cash deposit or can I use a share portfolio or residential property as guarantor? Whats the best variable and fixed rates available? What are the available terms? Any service fees, etc. Can I redraw at my leisure if needed? Can I have interest only requirements and pay the principal off at my own pace - does this method attract a fee? Everything is currently done with the CBA. PM if you prefer.

Agreed.

I have been let off on several occasions, which I believe was because there was no 'attitude'.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Bigger is not always better!

Did the conrod dent the bonnet on the way out? :)

You're weird.

No dramatical death I'm afraid.

It was very anticlimatic.

Bastard wouldn't start one morning.

The end.

I suspect that the headgasket let go completely, and allowed water into the combustion chamber... well enough to wet the plugs.

She cranks... but doesn't fire up.

Very tempted to give this motor a viking funeral.

but more than likely, I'll either sell off parts on it, or turn it into a coffee table.

Gawd, mine started with a fist sized hole in it and no oil or coolant.

Why not just replace the headgasket then. Couple days and she back on the road. Or is this a good excuse for upgrades?

Upgrades, and its "kinda" (ok maybe without the extras!) cheaper to build a fresh EJ207.

EJ207 Series II Spec C brand new crate short motor from Japan
V4 STi heads with full head service (more aggressive exhaust cam compared to R heads)
Subaru new water pump, oil pump, timing belt kit, headgaskets, etc
ARP Head stud kit
Hyperflow High Capacity Alloy Race Sump Stage II
Hyperflow In Tank Anti-Surge Unit

And whatever other shit it needs.

207 has its advantages:

EJ20R/EJ20K tend to spin bearings. EJ207's don't.
EJ20R/EJ20K are open decked. EJ207's are semi closed.
EJ20R/EJ20K like moderate boost. EJ207's are freak crate motors, and have been reported to run over 30psi boost with the right supporting mods.

I wanted to keep it a two litre, for registration ease, the fact that I've recently rebuilt my GT2860R, and that my twisted upipe and dump pipe won't facilitate a bigger turbo without scrapping the lot and starting again. Adding great expense to the build... meaning I'd literally have to rip out everything and start again...

Oh. And I have a little philosophy.

Why take out something inferior, to put something as inferior back in, when for similar outlay, you can go better?

I like the way you think. I stand by this too, if I have to save a little longer to get the best, I do.

Do it once and do it right I say.

Forge the next one :D I did and you will not regret it (other than the shitty noise)

What does a 207 short block set you back? If you don't mind me asking.

About $2.2k.

I intend on hitting the track soon, and I figured, that if I pull out the motor to simply just chuck on headgaskets onto my 20R, only to have it spin a bearing at the next track day...

I'd be pissed

:)

I always wake up with a massive headache when I sleep that long.

Handy to know. I thought I may have damaged the block fatally while reassembling the other week. So far so good but if it doesn't hold up I will also be in the market for a short block.

Yes you would be pissed.

13 hour sleep? How the fuck do you do that? For that to occur you would HAVE to do a -12 hour day of work?

???

Is that even possible?
