I was literally writing exactly the same thing word for word when I realised there was another page of replies...

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

I have been offered $10 500 for my car, does this seem like a reasonable price for a 2001 model with 103 000kms?

Thanks

This morning I discovered after a short drive that coolant is leaking quite badly out of the head gasket on the passengers side of the car.

Myself and a mate who is a mechanic are going to try and get it sorted over the long weekend and next week. While I have it apart is there anything else I should change at the same time?

Water pump, Timing Belt, Thermostat and any old pulleys/bearings.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

Thanks mate. They are all less than 4000kms old so I might just leave them. I read somewhere to replace the valves and to get the heads machined, is this necessary?

I tossed up the idea of a conversion but I would rather spend the money on snow trips and a trip to Thailand :D

Only if it's overheated. The heads can warp from the heat and become unsquare so that they don't sit properly on the block, but if it never overheated then you'd be pissing money away.

I finally installed my HID's today. They are 35w and 6000K. Before I get abused for putting them in, I have adjusted the headlights so that they shine into the ground and not into peoples eyes.

Haha nice :)
I was considering putting in HID's but i was scared about people starting a manhunt with torches and pitchforks.

It's a nice setup!
You still selling it?

I'm about to put a new audio setup in my lib.. a little more powerful to what you have now.
Were you happy with your setup?

You should just put them in, they make a huge difference even when angled down, visibility is heaps better.

Thanks mate, nah I'm going to keep it now and spend the money I had saved for a new car on holidays and on fixing the head gasket issue.

Yeah I like it, it isn't the most powerful system in the world but I can't even turn the volume up past 15 without my ears starting to ring and it has plenty of bass. Most people hate Kicker but I really like my speakers, they are very clear compared to some different brands my mates are running. What are you putting in your car?

Ah, well I like it! I wouldn't want to get rid of it.

So far only purchased the front and rear speakers and i'll fit them next week.

Front - 6.5" Clarion 350w splits
Rear - 6.5" Clarion 250w coaxial

I've been told if you put splits in both rear and front it can be a little to much treble.

It's going to be built over a couple of months but it's not going to be anything AMAZING just hope it still pumps though.
next I'll be buying a double din dvd receiver and the 4 channel amp.
I'm not sure whether I want to have twin subs.

(come to think about it - you didn't mention power/wattages of your units, not sure how why i said it's going to be a little more powerful..)

My speakers are 80 watts RMS each and they get that much power from the amp at 4 Ohms. Which is more than enough for everyday listening.

Don't get 2 subs, you lose too much boat space, in my opinion just buy one good quality one.

You would be better off just waiting until you buy the head unit and amp and then installing them all at the same time. Saves you pulling everything apart a second time if you just use the stock wiring to run them without an amp in the mean time, that and the stock head unit does not provide enough power to do them justice.

You don't even need speakers in the back, save yourself the $100 - $200 or whatever they are worth.
