@Tom: Unions happened.

Unions need to harden the **** up.

I hate the whole work cover bullshit.

Or people who overuse it.

Spoiler

I have a classic one.

To get to our coolroom there are two options;

You can climb over some uneven rocks for a few metres and step over a small gap between the rocks and the concrete pad;

or/

You can open two doors and walk around on a ramp that I was forced to build for safety concern.

Using the ramp would mean approximately an extra ten or twelve steps.

Which option do you think EVERYONE uses?

To bring a full crate of bottles inside from the packing shed would be over the legal limit for a female, so, we give options.

1) Three different style trolleys, because people are different heights, and some people push - some like to pull - so you can't have ONE trolley, can you?

2) Don't put as much in the crate (seriously though) - but obviously this will increase the total time spent walking bottles inside.

3) Ask a male staff member to help (In which case I usually tell them to fuckoff and get a trolley, so not REALLY an option if I'm honest)

4) Struggle with it at full load, hurt yourself, complain to everyone that the weight is far too much for you to carry even though clearly you have personally governed the amount of weight you've put in the crate yourself?

Option 4 is very popular. Very popular.

Hahaha I know exactly what you are talking about.

When I was there I was checking out your cool room with Josh, we had quite a few beers by this stage and I think we both tripped over your uneven rocks!

hahahahha. I think I nearly tripped on said rocks.

Ninjaed.

I've got heaps of examples of things like that, and I'm just as guilty as everyone I have to tell off for doing things like that.

It's a bit heavy, I could use the tap, OR I could lift it and pour it in from the top in a 10th of the time. Not that anyone here would sue us, but has anyone been to a doctor before that seemed intensely keen on trying to get you to fill out compo work?

I had one a while ago where I cut my hand open, and he dead set, even AFTER I told him it's a family business - wanted me to fill out the paper work for a claim.

My lordy lord.

Yo Jasetheace.

Random things people do that make no sense literally pour out of me, Adam.

A new habit from one of them has developed over the last few months;

We buy most of our soft drinks through the trade counter at Woolworths (I know, down with big business and all that, but it is cheaper to buy Coca Cola soft drinks from a supermarket than it is to purchase it directly from Amatil at wholesale - go figure) - so we get quite a lot at each time - think about a boot load in the Foz.

We blokes take the soft drink to the coolroom, obviously, and on consumption to cellardoor/cafe the girls can come and grab what they need to restock.

I was noticing that one staff member was grabbing a rather large amount of cold stock.

Didn't say anything, but thought I'd hover and see what the purpose was.

So they're taking cold stock from the cool room, then putting it in the cupboard - as the fridges are completely full - so that when they run out they don't have to walk back to the cool room - they can simply pop the warm stock into the fridge.

Two problems.

First, and foremost, warm stock is warm.

Secondly, why the **** are me and the boys walking it to the opposite end of the complex to make sure it's all kept cold if they're just going to take it out and put it in the cupboard anyway?

Honestly.

I haven't said anything yet, sometimes it's easier for me to just ignore things like that rather than spend an hour trying to make someone understand.

You really have to wonder sometimes.

I had a bloke in a while ago who saw with me something awe inspiring. Staff member pulls full bin bag out, ties it off, walks about three metres and puts it down - then starts to walk off.

I enquired as to why the bin had only curiously moved a few paces, upon which the response came;

"I'll take it out to the bin later, it's so far away"

Well why did you come and tie the Posted Image'ing thing up, take it out of the bin and put it on the floor next to it, and walk off while there's still customers here? And it's not REALLY very far away at all, it's another 10 paces past the coolroom.

Anyway, bloke says to me;

"You're the boss mate, don't you realise that these days the boss works FOR the employees?"

That tyre size isn't too bad for the G-class.

Not niggarims like you usually see.

Happy with the rim size, just a taller tyre was what I was thinking.
