So i went and spent a bit of time with the tuner tonight.. Spoke about clutches, turbo options and fuel..

He told me to obtain the power im going to get 300+ awkw im going to have to run a button clutch..

Also advised i should go down the E85 path.. I hadnt really thought about that but as long as i can find some servos around here that sell it..( i think there are a few) ill be going that way.. He said around 330 would be very obtainable..

Was talking to some of my maintenance boys, one of which worked at a sugarmill and he was saying how the ethanol produced in them destroys the stainless pipes there. I know you need to keep an eye on your fuel system as you will be replacing parts during the course of its life more regularly than normal fuel.

Also need to upgrade to some bigger injectors. Power output you want might be some ID2000s for the e85. We were looking at this for my big engine build. Looking at $1500-$2000 for the fuel system on mine until i pulled the pin.

My advice would be leave ethanol alone. Jarrod is correct. Ethanol eats fuel lines and other fuel system bits. It acts as an acid. So one day you will be lovely and fine, and the next you risk killing that beautiful engine of yours as either the fuel pump dies or a high pressure line blows out and starves the engine of fuel. Not to mention the fire risks of a blown high pressure fuel line.

You will need to speak to engineers regarding the new fuel system, as the materials will have to be ethanol approved, and changing fuel lines is not something that regency/RTA will look upon favourably as a backyard job. Its not cheap to upgrade the fuel system complete. For the sake of an extra 10% horsepower (and if you increase the horsepower with better fuel, your safety margins are still the same as they were before, so dont think its safer to run ethanol at increased power over premium unleaded) its not worth the outlay. 300kw on the suby awd system will be enough. You'll have enough trouble with shafts, CVs and diffs with that power. Dont make the fuel system unreliable as well.

If you are willing to spend the money to do it right, then I say do it. But if you're not going to do it right, then dont it. Fuel systems are not safe when tinkered with incorrectly.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.

MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

I'm sure it will only grow in popularity. As long as more car manufacturers use it!!

You also know that the reason you run bigger injectors and fuel systems is because you burn through more fuel per 100km. Just making sure you know that with the extra power, you chew through your fuel faster.

Always gonna be the way ay.. Im assuming when im not hard on the right foot it should be reasonable on the fuel.

I really need some more info on the fuel pump/surge tank setups i should be looking at... I havent even found one example of a suby build running it.
