So mums car needs new tyres, rego is due within the next 4 weeks or so, has an oil leak which would cost heaps to find, 170k kms (05 model), rear struts sound like they're on the way out and one of the rear elec windows sometimes gets stuck in the down position.
Time for a new car.

Fortescue Metals Group, Australia's third-biggest iron ore exporter, will cut its capital spending and staff, and defer one of its mine expansions because of falling prices for the commodity.
Nik, thoughts on how this will play out longer term.
Morgan, is she doing this on some sort of lease etc or just tearing money up and buying a new car outright?

These dudes seem to be taking things a little seriously.

Plateau would be my word of choice. You're looking at a market correction on com.stocks it was bound to happen, the price bubble burst, but it won't keep falling. If only we were as long term thinking as the Chinese/Indians we'd be in better stead for the future. Unfortunately we chase red balls across the freeway and complain when we get hit.
