Haha the sedans are ugly but the wagons are growing on me. Especially one with a mesh grille and STi wheels! ...and 4 thousand kms :)

We drove around last Sat to see what's out there and the G5 GT actually stacks up pretty well.

While the Q5s, new RX350s, etc are all nice, you can't get much for <$70k.
SUVs like the Forester XT, CX5, Tiguan, are all just a little cheap and nasty.

Gen5 interior is really stylish and modern. Doesn't feel plasticy and is <$50k.

There is also an S-Edition in the same yard as the GT which they'll look at. Still missing some creature comforts which the GT has standard.

Plateau would be my word of choice. You're looking at a market correction on com.stocks it was bound to happen, the price bubble burst, but it won't keep falling. If only we were as long term thinking as the Chinese/Indians we'd be in better stead for the future. Unfortunately we chase red balls across the freeway and complain when we get hit.

hahah well Said Nikko! my thoughts are that China isn't "Flailing" as some 'economists' are putting it, but normalising as they need to, in order to sustain strong and maintainable growth.
People are panicking their shit off over it now though.

I read this earlier,

"But on the main stage we still see business leaders, top commentators and politicians in a tizz, either denying there ever was a mining boom, saying it never mattered anyway, or reassuring us that it will endure for another 20 years."

The only thing that come to my mind was

I do disagree, I was very underwhelmed by the plasticy feel of a lot of the Gen5 interior, was not at all a fan.

Base model or GT? There's a big difference between the models.

Well it felt nice compared to the XT we sat in!

I think all dashs are pretty plasticy these days. Gotta choose the best of a bad bunch.

Any of them, the dash plastics etc are common across them all.

I think the shiny plastic they put on the base models is horrible!! The H6 and GT models look good though.

It's like a dark, brushed alloy material they use in the GT. The Macintosh sound system has a glass finish too.

Both look awesome together.

But whats with all the damn buttons on the steering wheel  I much prefer the older Subaru wheels like the smaller 3-spoke Momo one in yours...

It is the same piece of plastic dash insert as is used on other models with a different coat of paint on it.
