Morning guys..

So if you havent been reading my thread im about to have my engine back and its going into the lib..

I am going to go an FMIC and have been told by the guys if there is no kit for the lib they will have to make one from scratch..

Im fine with that but it will be allot more pricey than modifying a kit..

So im just after any info on what you guys have done ?

Hi Andrew,

I've heard the GC8 FMIC kit is fairly close to fitting in a Gen 3, but i'm sure someone else can confirm.

Why are you going FMIC, and not a bigger TMIC?

Bonnets are expensive.. Dont want a bonnet scoop.. And herd from a few if im going for the 300 kw atw mark a FMIC would be better..

Matt used an evo front mount intercooler and then custom piping. I dont think gc8 kits can be modified to suit a gen3 as easily as they are with the gen1/2. Could be wrong though.

Does a Billsy kit (rslc) suit gen 3?

No gen2 setups are nothing like a gen3 setup

The amount of mods youll need to a pre made kit you may aswell just go custom (around $1500 in staino if done properly)

Plus youll need a CAI that suits and a BOV that can fit up to the fmic piping....id factor $2000 for the cheap cooler (a good cooler is like $1000 by itself), bov, cai, staino piping, silicone and labour if done by someone else

You will still need to trim a tiny bit off the jdm reo aswell, and possibly "modify" the lower radiator bar depending on pipe size used

Even ive got a scooped bonnet sitting in the shed for $350ish....after the money youve spent on the car already, if you think thats expensive than somethings wrong lol

I took a $250 respray into account aswell.. So $500-600 for a bonnet..

I was thinking I could get a FMIC for around the $800 mark..

Yeah if ya can weld you shouldnt have too many issues...or just dodge up all the bends with silicone bends...thought that will look cheap

All good mate, thats why im helping and trying to show the realistic side of things....if you can get it all done on the cheap and it works than thats fantastic...the prices ive quoted are what ive found, others may find different

Ive always tried to build my car by the "do it once, do it right" mantra...and hell ive learnt heaps along the way and all the hard shit wasnt even done by me...more so as i had no idea what i was doing and preferred someone who did to do the work and get it right first time

This fits a Gen3 with AIDS so all you'll have to customise is the turbo side. fairly cheap too and also comes with the option of just buying the piping
