The Subaru engine management shuts down the engine before it cooks doesn't it? When the Foz had a crack in the top tank, and dropped its guts, the ecu just shut down the engine and wouldn't let it start again. Vicky was driving it at the time and she was just exiting the tunnel in peak hour traffic in the middle of summer. Car wouldn't start again so she was blocking one lane. Couldn't be a much worse situation

Sig worthy.

Speaking of loud, the customers that I still see for detailing all have M3's now. The last one ( the son and nephew of the other two) just picked up a 2004 E46 M3 in Phoenix gold. It's got a stage 3 tune, super sprint exhaust system and hi flow cats. Needless to say its freaking loud on WOT. He took me for a spin. Still amazed at how much power those 3.2 straight sixes produce.

Sig worthy.

Whilst we're on the topic of interior cleaning, Brett, what can I use to clean the roof of my Gen IV? There are finger marks, smudges and what not that seem like dirt, or just simply people that haven't washed their hands and leaving their mark all over the place. What's the best thing to do to get it schmick again?

I'm interested in cleaning/protection of leather.

You'll be amazed to hear that I use Chem guys.

Cleaning: I use Greenclean at a dilution of 4:1
Protectant/gloss: I use Silk Shine dressing.

Innerclean is good too when you're just maintaining a clean interior.

Sig worthy.

@ Gary - again I use diluted Greenclean. Mist it onto a clean microfibres cloth and gently wipe the headlining till the mark is gone. Headlining is pretty delicate stuff so go easy. Also don't spray directly onto the headlining as it can loosen the glue and overtime you might find your headlining falling down.

@Jase - ill get back to you in a minute. Gotta put Georgia to bed.

Sig worthy.

That won't cause the dirt to smudge even more? The same ratio as you mentioned above; 4:1?

Because when I say all over the place, I literally mean, EVERYWHERE. Dirty kids they had.

Probably more after a protectant. I normally just use water and then wipe the protectant stuff over it. But the repco one feels so greasy!!!!!

Time for bed. I'll make a decision of whether I go to work or not in the morning.
