im not a mad keen fan, i havent been to a game of NRL in prob 3-4 years now. mate wanted to go to the finals, thought it would be good just for the atmosphere, and the tickets were cheap as, so thought why not

It is a gordian worm (Paragordius tricuspidatus) leaves its cricket host (Nemobius sylvestris). These kind of parasites change the behaviour of the animal that they live in. It actually made the cricket think to go into the water so that it could release itself!
