I've never done one in an auto. So I've never dealt with tranny cooler lines.
Why are they tricky? Are they easy to block off, remove and re-connect?

There's just enough room to undo the hose clamps. If you cant get the hoses off you will have to cut the hose and replace.
If you get them off just stick a bolt in the hoses, and don't start the car haha (projectile bolt)
