Interesting...

Katie's car license is due for renewal on Christmas eve so we'll see what they do up here.

Paper license would be mega annoying. I hate having that stuff in my wallet.

Yeah well it is only for 5 working days apparently... so we'll see...

Every stage of my licence, I've always got it on Friday the 13th!

L's, P's, Fulls and now my bike L's... all Friday the 13th somehow

Rta offices all print plastic licenses. Maybe bike test places don't

I did my L's for my R class (unrestricted) and they gave me a paper thing until they send me a new plastic license.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

This was the RTA at Wynyard... quite a major RTA...

Yup... that is what I have... but all good... don't care... can legally ride now...

That's interesting... I've never been given a paper license for my proper license to be sent to me in the mail... May be because it's such a busy RTA office they have a different method to process such things.

Either way, congratulations man. Welcome to the bikie world. :P

From RMS

Plan ahead – your card may be posted to you

We’re changing the way we print and issue photocards. At certain locations, when you apply for or renew a licence, your card will be posted to you at no extra cost. RMS sends you a renewal notice around six weeks in advance of your licence's expiry date, so you have plenty of time to plan ahead.

When you apply for or renew you licence you will be given a paper receipt. The receipt will act as proof of licence status until your new photo licence arrives.

PS you can renew your licence at any time, you don't need to wait until expiry its the same as re-registering your car as soon as you get notice you can do it.

So yes, I'm going to sit on at least, and hopefully test ride some bikes tomorrow.. to see what I like... I'm worried that a 500 or 650 bike will be too big for me, since I'm only 5'7 and 74kg... I don't want a bike that if it starts going down, I have no chance of saving it...

I like the 250s and even the 300 maybe... but yeah... then power is an issue..

I will test ride what I can tomorrow, if the dealer lets me... some of them might be jerks... but we'll see...

You're only slightly shorter than me and same weight.

The GS500 might seem intimidating but after you own it for a week or so you'll realize it isn't scary at all.

At least ride one, once you feel how and where it balances you're very unlikely to have the bike "go down".

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Thanks... will check it out anyway... I guess I need to get my confidence up too... because going from a 125 on the pre-learner course to a 500 or a 650 is a bit much... but meh... we'll see how I go...

I worry more about not being able to keep the bike up even with my feet on the ground...

They're fairly low so I don't think you'll have any problems.

There is also the leaning over the tank to reach the handle bars... lol... but I will give it a go on the new GS500F tomorrow at the dealer and see how I feel on it... will go early before other douches go there and take up all the dealer's time...

I'm quite enjoying the look of these. There is one that rides past my house every morning while i'm walking the dog. They look awesome.

Daytona, I should be getting a Hyosung in the next couple of months though.
