Normally I laugh when I see some of the shit you want to buy. But I'd actually wear those.

That site is a gold mine man, put them on sale watch, wait a few months, and they'll be like $100 derrivah'd.

Heres my work post for Zac +whoever can be bothered reading it

Didn't do much technical today, mainly just nut and bolt work. which is what a lot of my job is.
Had to remove these two one way valves.  Thing they for a steam line.(Orange tag on each)
E620FECF-E4F1-4739-97CC-ACD2168ADABC_zps

marked each valve A and B
367396DB-5AF9-41E3-A7DB-FBDAB39D65DF_zps

So i un did these lines

6FAE5E04-3A4D-47BF-923B-57E4E0BB9AB7_zps

undid this flange (Lol)

D17AAF16-92A2-4EA0-A95D-763178BFBC1F_zps

and the other flange (lol)
41A56FF3-9D6B-4CE6-9BB7-D12D272A9800_zps

pulled each pin from what i think is an indicator box or something

85EC9FB6-9122-4C27-AB0E-74C16C737ED8_zps

loosed each of these nuts that hold the indicator box things to the side of the valve
EEFB5FC3-BB55-4B19-9F32-12776E9FDC85_zps
then a rigger come down and put some slings around them and took the weight so i could remove the nuts and drag them indicator box things off and on the ground

indicator box things

main tools i used today (i used others today aswell)
4ED4D93C-B78D-43DB-83EE-AE2973D18552_zps

Some riggers stuff

B145D526-8AA3-48F6-9658-EC2E971D883B_zps

We had to lower each valve down separately, took forever because of all the pipes above of us and the lack of crane travel. But thats the riggers problem :P 50mm nuts on each bit of stud bar i think there was 24bit of stub bar for each valve flange and there were 3 flanged to take off, they were tight as :fork:, no anti seize used before, but maybe there was a reason for it i dunno. but my arm is a bit sore from swinging the hammer, probably wouldn't last long if i had to use it to finger bash a chick.

and this is what my clean work clothes looked like after today
AF215FBF-FEA9-440D-86F1-3252759A0166_zps

i didn't get any more photos got we got pretty busy with the rigging side of it, i'll get some tomorrow.

Its not everyones cup of tea, but i enjoy working with my hands, and now I'm back at the apartment (thats being paid for) i feel like it was worth it. Ive got a VF SV6 wagon as a hire car, this company pays for fuel (share between 3 people) and if/when i get home in 6 weeks i'll have saved enough cash from this job to go buy a brand new WR450F.

on saying that after the job is finished i'm not guarenteed anything after it. Doesn't bother me cause of my life situation but it might be daunting to other people. But I'm a good tradesman, and have pretty good knowledge of power generation stuff. I'll find work somewhere. (I know it sounds big headed/cocky, but its true) and people aren't gonna stop buying power, so there will always be work in power stations around the world.

Anyway if you read all that go get yourself a beer!

Its alive...Just jump up tomatoes and some strawberries and currants at the moment. The few apples I had were all on the ground this morning (fuckng possums) but I should score a good crop of pears and Figs. My artichokes are flowering too...which means I got well lazy with them, but they look awesome :)

Can you actually imagine trying to drive that RoadRunner on those tyres and that road. I'd be pulling 7 plug leads off, just to 'be safe'

today just was not a great day, anything that could go wrong, did go wrong, not just at work either......

Oh well, tomorrow is another day.....a better one hopefully.

Until then, i'm going to bed.
