So, it annoys me that we, and most businesses open on Anzac day,a day to recognise and remember those that lost their lives in wars that affected 100s of millions of people around the world, yet the 2 days a year that we close are good friday and christmas day, both are which are religious holidays.

 

Personally, I would rather work on those 2 days as they hold no significance to me whatsoever, and not work on Anzac day so  I can head into the shrine and pay my respects to something that actually happened.

His point is, why are we closing on religious holidays that are not reflective of our multicultural demeanour on the global stage, yet we stopped recognising the most important days that this country has in it's short, short history as if they are not important. The culture we have now is built on the country, not on religion.

I will add my 2 cents.

I hated working half a day in retail while I was still doing it. It was so disrespectful.

But having said that I will still gladly take a day off for a religious holiday that I don't really celebrate.

Hahaha, But I totally do see what Ash was trying to say, we put all of the importance on just one religions holidays when not everyone in the country is religious or from that group, yet something that should mean something to everyone such as ANZAC day doesn't get the same kind of treatment.... its a bit one sided.

Should be punishable by a slow death, fuck it is annoying when arseholes can't just stop being so shit and wait their fucking turn, then when people don't let them in or there simply are no gaps they are stuck blocking people who want to actually use the lane for what it is designed for. arsehole cubts is what they are.

I don't go into the turn lane just to get around people, but if my lane suddenly turns into a turn off lane, I'm going to keep driving until there is a gap to merge.
