Arguable, although I don't know the details or how much of an impact they have. The pests and feral animals I do know about include cane toads, rabbits, foxes, camels, deer, goats, horses, pigs and buffalo. Each have a negative impact in various areas but I don't think cats make up the highest percentage of damage to Australia.
Not arguable. Fact. Cats kill for the fun of it. One study found on average a cat would kill around 7 native animals a night, wether it be small reptiles, birds or small mammals. I can t remember the estimate of feral cats but I believe it was around 3 million. That means there is 21 million native animals being killed each night on average. And when you see the size feral cats can grow to you start realising how much damage they could do.

"The most widely spread and invasive of all introduced species. It is possibly responsible for the extinction of some species of small mammals."

Today there are about 18 million feral cats in Australia (McLeod 2004), distributed through all habitats (except some
of the wettest rainforests) in mainland Australia and Tasmania and on many offshore islands.

I bet if you hit a wombat it would do more damage than a cat........
Of course it would.
Hitting a wombat is like hitting a rock.

I ran over a cat once. It obviously wasn't on its last life as it just shook it off and continued piss-bolting into the front yard of a house.

+1
No idea how correct your figures are, but I agree haha
They aren't necessarily damaging in a physical sense, but to our native animals, they are every sense of the word.

Bastards of things. I'm not anti-feline, but I do prefer a dog over a cat if I had the choice.
