yea i dont know if there any difference with the ecu but i would like to pot a ej25 ecu in my but that mean i have to get the loom towhy are you still running the ej22 computer?
does it make any difference?
if you really wanted the most out of the NA 2.5 you'd have to look into some new AVLS heads and some sort of programable ECU
that's my opinion anyway...
i reckon with avls, avcs and some good tuning you could see 100-110kw atw
that's assuming it's not really much worse than the 3.0...?
edit: and for outright power, you're going to have to say bye bye to the boxer rumble mate
um what yr did that start come out in the new ej25 ? coz i had a run with a gen4 ej25 and i was pulling away from it
i want try and get like 100 or 115kw aatw

i guess it makes sense only using the ej22 ecu, as it would only control the air fuel mixture cam position sensor or somthing
does it run too lean?
nah it doesnt

you've got about 400kg on the gen4...
i don't even think the new NA 2.5s have avls...
i'm unsure what you'd have to do to get it...
i think some of the newer turbos have it...?

yea i will think bout it
Not to blow your bubble or anything here Tim, but...
Have you put thought in to WHY so many people go down the path of turbo conversions? This topic and idea (and many, many other daft ideas) have been covered numerous times before. Tristan is one of the only ones that has gone down the path of an NA conversion (that I am aware of) and quite honestly I would be disappointed with that result in return for the coin I put in. Sure, it's something different but at the end of the day you're only going to want to continue modding it and getting more power - I would be very surprised if Tristan is completely happy with his car now and is willing to leave it as is.
People simply don't bother with going the 'ZMONG superpowerful NA' because it is too time consuming, requires a lot more R&D and requires a much, much deeper pocket. For the money that Tristan spent on his conversion, I could have had a nice V6 STi cut dumped in mine and be pushing 200kW ATW with a few mods. I could also have found myself an EJ257 on the cheap (2nd hand) and shoved that in with some engine management. The list of choices goes on. With turbo and high performance engines you really do have the ability to get some decent power out of them without busting up a loan fatter than Manuel Uribe.
As many people have said before, you're much better off putting that coin in to a savings account and letting it grow so you can smash a nice turbo engine in there, or putting those funds toward a 'shopping kart conversion' that will allow your car to stick to the road like Celine Dion sticks to bad song making. In saying that though, I am sure others and myself can understand that when you want to do something - you will do it, and you won't let anyone talk you out of it. Having a unique car is a good feeling, and doing what you're setting out is definitely setting it apart from all the rest but just make sure you stop and think about it all, and about how you're spending your money. Remember as well, you are on your P's and having a 'highly modified engine' is in the same boat as driving a turbo or super-charged car.
