Any of you blokes ever had to make a claim regarding road surface damaging your car? Drove through a pothole yesterday and it took big chucks out of both my LHS wheels. Have heard it's a bit like trying to get blood from a stone getting compensation from Vicroads.

From what I have heard it will depend on how long the pothole has been there and if it has been reported. I can't say I know of anyone personally that has gotten compensation but know a few that have tried

Yeah, my common sense would say they will blame inattentive driving etc. They'll just prove the pot hole was avoidable if you swerved. At most they might say they didn't sign it correctly.

Yeah that's true, much more like them to put sign up and claim it was always there.
Either way they will put the responsibility on the driver.

A bit chilly down here ATM.
Took the kids up to central Vic yesterday to see their Great Grandad. Great old bugger he is; 98 years old, sharp as a tack and still lives at home.
It got a little chilly on the drive home too.....
