so there has been a weird clicking noise coming from motor bay when on ACC/ON and the car is warm. Had the lads take a look when the ol' girl was getting a service and turns out to be the waste gate solenoid going spac.. no idea why.

 

I'm kinda thinking that switching away from the PossumLink and e-booooost, whenever i get around to saving for a new build, to something else which can do the boost control too would be a good option.

 

anyone have any opinion on boost control via ECU - never looked into

I'm about to use an adaptronic 420d basic and I know it has the capability for it to have its own boost control. I will be talking to the tuner if it's worth it or not. For a bit more cash you can also get the 440 universal which is the same ecu but has a few more inputs and can have a flex sensor plugged in as well

So Im going to buy a new car (likly a VW Jetta 103 TDI Highline .. or maybe a passat now if i get extra cash) and wanted to sell the known to be unregistered BMW as a parts / fix 'er upper so I have some extra dosh for a deposit.

 

I email the government people for some info, who tell me my license is under suspension for non payment of a fine and both of my cars are unregistered and will need to pass a pit inspection. Those who have been in the RS will know this is very unlikely to happen.

 

So turns out the theiving ***** who broke into my letter box in the past are still doing it, and Ive not recived notice of the rego expiring. If its within 3 months, you just pay pro rata and everything is fine. The ***** at the government are not willing to be lienet given MY SHIT HAS BEEN RANSACKED AGAIN fork. So i've had to pay a fine ~$400 to be able to legaly drive again.. but I can't drive the car .. which I've been driving since it expired IN JANUARY!!

 

I was told "its you fault and should have thought about ways of remebering such as using a callendar, post it note or a reminder in your phone. We have sent you notices about this in the post" .. Again I explain my post is being stolen, im happy to go to the police and report it if needed "That wont do anything, you have to pay and have the car inspected" I asked the simple question, why did no one called me, you have my mobile, you verified who i am with it "We don't legally have to contact you about the expiration of your vehicle, its your resposability". Essentially ***** features ended the call with "Im not going to discuss this anymore"

I could look into converting the RS for race use, but im no track driver and don't do it enough (twice only, plus some drag strip time) to justify keeping it. I wont be able to afford to get all the naughty bits removed, stock parts put in, registered, and naughty fun bit put back in any time soon.

 

I might have to do a skid leaving work or something

Sounds like you need some surveillance cameras set up. Hard to believe these people are too busy following protocol to realise that there's a bigger issue at hand. Hopefully you can get it sorted.
