Haha, didn't take any more.. but going down to the parking lot the night before, handbreak on + down hill + quick left - right locking of the wheel made for a awesome slide down the road haha. probably the best part about arriving at 3am was there was no traffic :P

Small Update..

Fitted a Cusco 20mm 3way adjustable rear swaybar last weekend..
in long high speed bends i notice the front doesn't seem to wash out like it would when i pushed it.. with saying that i haven't been game to push it much more..
in short twistys i can feel the car is much snappier with coming out of corners and into a neutral position and there is almost no rebound sway of the car in quick chicane like corners.

I Fitted the STI Carbon Fiber front strut brace, not sure if i feel a difference really.. but I'll go with it haha

Also got the Legacy L7 Grill on now.

Other thing that i got done was a new Windscreen. because of this..
Posted Image

When the guy removed the old one he noticed it was getting a bit of rust around the edges..
but much to my surprise he cleaned it up, sanded it back, treated it all then primed it and re-sealed it and replaced the top weather strip.. have to say O'brien is pretty good (I went into their shop rather than them coming out) and the best thing is it all came under my free window replacement with Shannons! WINNING!

Another thing i bought is a matching leather arm rest cover for the center console lid.. to match the gear boot from the group buy a year or 2 back..
although 2x in a row they have sent me the wrong color :| (anyone with a gen3 want a black arm rest cover with Blue Stitch) Tom? lol

Also got the 25% Tint done all around.. pretty happy with that, car looks so much cleaner now without the shit purple bubbling tint.

I'm hoping to get some new 5000k HID's soon as the 6000K are starting to really get on my nerves.. being a tad too blue for my liking.

I'll upload a few photos later today of all the changes after a nice wash.

Small update..
been a while.

tried to get a new leather cover for the arm rest to match the gear boot.. after mucking around with the guy on ebay and 2 months of returns and new items being sent (wrong color, wrong shape, wrong item) i gave up and am making one myself.. pics to come

Got a new Battery.. Optima Yellow Top.
Amazing battery! i have left the radio on with sub, doors open with lights on and ignition on for 4 hours, came back to car and she started no worries..
stupid leaving the ignition on so long but i forgot :P

Getting it installed was a bit of a hassle though..

the terminals are larger which was a hassle but more so was getting the Battery Tie-Down to fit..
spent an hour at the wreckers checking all the cars and finally on the way out, feeling let down i found one laying on the ground.. turns out its from a Magna.
the issue was the Optima is too deep and the stock tiedown does not fit over the Optima..
a bit of work on the vice to put some angle on the tie down bars and she fits nice and snug now

and finally, my project this weekend.. which has become a NIGHTMARE!
replacing the roof liner.

what was meant to be a simple, remove old, spray adhesive and lay down new material has been thrown out the window!

First thing i can clarify.... SunRoof in AUDM gen2's are Well and truely aftermarket!

2nd thing.. removing the sunroof sliding visor... OMFG biggest PITA ever! took me 2 bloody hours!

so i realised pretty quickly this was no longer going to be a simple 1 day job once i started pulling the head liner off..
the headliner has been cut up and parts have been used where required to stick the new covering onto..and hold it up.. everywhere else.. its actually just pulled tight and glued..

i never really realised but now i think about it i can see why the roof is lower in mine.
its going to be a bit of a hassle to finish this as the material im covering my roof in is not strechable at all so getting it tight and gluing it so it doesnt sag is proving to be difficult.

progress so far:
Posted Image

i have decided if i cant get it done myself this weekend i will take it to the pro's but im going to keep at it today and report back tonight ;)

Yeah Pics are coming, i didnt take before pics but everyone knows what color the roof is from factory..
i just decided to change the roof to a dark charoal color to match the leather and pillar / dash plastics..

one thing im unsure about is getting the Visors to match... but i might just make some kind of sock or something for them.

The optima is awesome! ill get a photo of the install shortly, the only downfall is the weight! but i can live with that.

Good luck wit the lining. Thats a tricky one to tackle, especially with a sunroof.

I had my roof lining and pillars changed in a previous car from cream to black. Uber sexy.

It will look good once done.

OK, after fluffing around for another half day i am regretfully pulling the plug and taking this to a pro to have it done..
i have no doubt i can do it but the time investment will be just so much more than im willing to put into it currently and then the outcome may not be perfect as i would like so i've had some quotes and am getting it done this week.

now.. i have looked into it more and if there was no sunroof.. EASY! i would have had this done in half a day.. but with the sunroof it is just a massive PITA!

so i will say check back in a week and see what you think.. if you dont have a sunroof, give it a shot.. $50 in fabric (i went the alcantara knockoff stuff)
and $20 in glue and supplies.. half a day.. easy done

Got a sunroof.. GIVE UP NOW and get a pro to do it!
one bonus i have got from starting it myself is that now i have found where the #*^%)#%^ rattle in my roof was coming from haha

Clutch is slipping like no tomorrow
My semi slicks are now not semi anymore :P

But progress...

New head unit
And waiting to finish off payment of v3 half cut... finally!

Also going to have the struts rebuilt when she's off the rd.

Shit is about to get started!

Thanks Jesse,
Should be good.. my only issue currently is I'm without a car.. never got around to registering Dazza the Maaaazda lol
so off to work with a temp rego 2moz and hopefully get a RWC done during lunch haha

also I'm going to purchase the enclosure kit for the "carport" so that its a bit more winter friendly :P

hope to have her all done in 2 weeks..

this week is pulling the engine and doing a 100k service on the V3 (water pump, seals, timing belt and idlers)
buy a clutch and clean it all up..

then this weekend i should be able to pull the dash and hopefully get the loom all out and done.

next week I hope to get the dash back in, Brakes and Suspension swapped over

and then get the new engine/driveline in next weekend.

Ambitious but I have done each thing a few times on other cars so combined it shouldn't be too much more work.
