Yep. It's gotta happen.

Sold the beast yet mate?

Not yet. Not advertised it yet. Trying to squirm my way around Jess and prevent selling it to be honest. :P

The new car is an absolute machine though. Loving it.

Yeah, put your foot down. A man needs a toy and it's not like you're paying it off.

Hello Hoony

I'm doing pretty good mate. Working hard and keeping busy... not enough hours in the day lately.

How the fork are you?

Good to hear mate.

Same here, busy as fork but not a lot of travel; which I like.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

If Jess has her own car and doesn't want the Lib as a replacement, then I guess it's going.

Amiright?

We sold her car, we bought a new one and we won't need two cars so will sell mine. We are moving out together into the property we bought in October pending completion of construction so she will catch the train to work and I'll drive to work.

At least it's easy to keep up with the forum, even if it is slow.

I noticed today that ausubaru.com (currently accessible only by an old internet explorer or firefox) has 32 active members - and maybe 8 of them might post once or twice a month :(
It used to be such a good forum but it seems the owner has lost interest and the up-keep/maintenance has slipped to the point the forum is almost inaccessible.

Plus the usual - facebook is more convenient and the forum didn't evolve to feature newer models as other model specific and all EJ model based forums started up, people moved onto newer models and found good/better info on newer forums and "jumped ship" with little to do with ausubi. Throw in starting a family/career moves etc and forum time usually becomes a premium to other priorities.

Yep... *sigh*

Cheers

It looks outdated by a long shot unfortunately... And clicking on some links causes a database error.

Never really been a fan of vBulletin forum software.

Nothing wrong with vBulletin, cut my teeth on that forum so to speak. That's where I leant all the different codes etc. the database error or unable to decipher raw data is apparently due to how internet explorer programs work these days. Another forum member told me one line of coding would sort it out - one line per PAGE!! I'd say there's a way to easily duplicate this. Ultimately I'd like to see a decent update but it's not my choice.

Lack of use of forums is a bigger issue these days. They may have had their time and a number will drop off the radar losing valuable information for different interest groups.

Cheers

I still think there is an interest in them, you just have to steer clear of social media as much as possible. I mean, instead of having a group on Facebook you can just have a dedicated page. Prevent discussions on there and point all traffic to the forum for active discussion to take place there instead. There are some tactics you can use but it's just how you structure it all I guess. The Facebook group can be an avenue to provide updates, announcements or even events and gatherings. For details, click on a link that would essentially transfer you to the forum.

I mean, it's pretty self explanatory but that's just me thinking out loud and it's probably easier said than done.

People dont want to make an account, they want answers, fixes and recognition handed to them on a platter. They just want to shit post about how they can have a turbo on their Ps, what this CEL means, what oil to use, if anyone has ever done this mod, am i the first to do this, etc etc.

Yeah far too many people don't know how to search or research these days :(

They just want to shit post about how they can have a turbo on their Ps, what this CEL means, what oil to use, if anyone has ever done this mod, am i the first to do this, etc etc.

Well... I was the first in the world to fit a factory looking moulded plastic snorkel to my L series :P

Since then I know of a handful of others that have used the same trick, some with variation to how they've done it with mixed results in my opinion.

So thats the trick to accessing ausubaru...

There goes Ausubaru
