Hi, They have no plans on getting it in and advised me to check upcoming newsletters. OK. Might have to ring the Netherlands and pretend I speak Dutch. Cheers, Nik http://www.brouwerij...elschip.nl/cms/

Had the Peche Mortel last night, not impressed... at all!

The coffee flavour was overpowering, and not in a good way...

Hi, Timmermans Lambic Peach So sweet and fruity, but it is supposed to be! I thoroughly enjoyed this brew and would definitely buy it again for something different. Not a session brew, but a really nice refreshing flavour for the first cold one after a long day at work. Cheers, Nik

Hi,

Got a hold of a very special limited release;

Posted Image

Strong chocolate notes, low carbonation but not an impressive head. Only a day in the bottle when I tried it, so I'm not sure. Unfortunately the whole brew was pre sold, so I count myself lucky for the try.

Cheers,
Nik

Hi,

I won't.

Just check the spec.G on the new brew, sitting at around 13. Seems to have rocked through reasonably well, softly if you will. Looks like another high alcohol brew is on the cook, hopefully (for people other than me) it will be a bit less bitter than the first brew.

Have about 8 mini-kegs worth in the fermenter. So should last a bit longer this time around.

Cheers,
Nik

Personally, I like a bit of bitter in a pale as long as there is enough malt to balance it out (but more towards the hop)

Hi, I won't disclose the hop profile that I've used in this latest brew, I'll show you when you're here. But you'll find they are quite exciting hop varieties, especially when accompanied by the speciality malt I obtained. I agree with you though, and the malt balance was not perfect on the last batch. I am confident that this new brew would be a silver/bronze in the relevant category. Cheers, Nik

GT Lager - brew boys

Tasting Notes

Of Course we made it 5.8%, it's in honour of the 5.8L motor, the 351 (hence 35.1 bitterness units). We brewed it from German Pilsner malt, Southern Cross hops and lager yeast. We put it in a bottle with a pair of wide black stripes, and let it loose!

Ok, so thats all wanky and I only grabbed it cos of the bottle (I'm a ford man at heart) but I'm actually really surprised by this. Its a very drinkable session brew!

Hi, Very low IBU. Sweet? Haven't had the springbank. Jealous. New brew is starting at 62, moving to 14.5 on the brix on day one. This will be serious. Probably a 9% brew. Yes. Cheers, Nik

Not sweet. just ... just drinkable... *shrug* I dunno how to explain it.. what crap beers should taste like, I'll go with that. You're not supposed to notice the springbank... it may or may not make an appearance in 11 days Wow.. I have so much to learn. Just looking into the SG -> brix and PA% charts... (mind you I was look at wine conversions) ... started to do my head in :D then I was like, wow do you have one of those refraction things... then I realised you live on a vineyard hehe

Hi, That GT looks great next to that pimp ass glass. I have a brix refractometer, but I only use the brix hydrometer for the specific gravity. I am using a calibrated brix, so the 14.5 is pretty accurate. Basically means we are making an insane beer. This is the puppy that we threw some blood oranges into. Also about 500G of hops... haha. Insane. With about a 45 minute stand. Using CITRA and NELSON SAUVIN hops in this beast. BEAST. REAL BEER. REAL BEER. REAL BEER. Cheers, Nik
