hahaha nice work Brett! I don't mind some of their stuff. I am with you in saying that it is not so much my style of beer but I can enjoy them.

For Nik's benefit (non fagbook user) I went to Feral today, they've laid down a new batch of Karma Citra - is gooooood...better than at Sail and Anchor.

Also had a Japanese-spiced Lager (Brett knew the hop type) and some Russian chocolate stout....interesting stuff. The guy behind the bar seemed pretty impressed I went for the smoked porter and rach went for whatever that red-wine 11% beast was so he gave us tasters of almost everything for nuthin.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

ive never had any experience, but I believe they either age it in a seasoned cask/barrel, or they add smoked wood chips to the fermenter.

Sig worthy.

smoking the barley instead of just roasting. Peated malt uses peat to smoke the barley

this is a great example of sorachi ace

Today was my first complete solo brew day. Was pooping bricks, but it went really smoothly and apart from missing target OG by a couple of points, I don't think I got anything wrong. Was finished by 3 pm too!

Enjoying a Courage Directors ale and a 6er of squires IPA.
Looking forward to a lie in tomorrow

Sig worthy.

I'd have liked more flavour and aroma hops. But twas ok. Won't buy again though. I'd rather Brewdog Punk IPA.

Sig worthy.

Hi,

I like to think of it as "Gimmikeller"

Because that's what most of the beers are.

Cheers,
Nik

Brewdog Punk IPA.

I actually thought that the punk was pretty rubbish. thoroughly dissapointed in it.
I do enjoy their darker beers though :D

Paradox (arran) is still up there in my current favourite list.

I found it has the good parts of the Tokyo without the excessive alcohol taste (silly, i know).

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Hi,

No not silly, you're bang on. I think Tokyo was kind of ridiculous. I still have a few stubbies of it that I've not brought myself to drink yet.

Cheers,
Nik

The tokyo was tasty, but it just wasn't pleasureable to drink.

Mate at work was telling me about THIS festival in the UK. 160 Ale's, £2 admission then cheap as chups to sample that shit.

We need something like that here. The beer festival here is a bit silly.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Hi,

The camra festival (as posted by me a long time ago, spaz) is definitely on my bucket list.

Cheers,
Nik

There will be a WA craft beer showcase later this year. It's in the planning stages but it is going ahead and looks like it'll be awesome. It's going to be in Northbridge ( urban orchard???) Friday night, Saturday day session and night session then Sunday day session. Obviously not as big as CaMRA but should still be worth heading along to.
Nik, your mate Steve ( of cowie and monk fame) is putting it together and he's pretty switched on with that kind of stuff. Looking forward to it.

There's also meant to be a Oktoberfest thing happening too.

Sig worthy.
