Dash bits are on the slow boat from Japan. Left on the 9th of September so probably another 2 weeks away at least.
Seats are my favourite too. Hair bit bigger than the gen 2 seats so fit my fat ass a bit nicer. Keen to have the full matching interior with the back seat too

Weekend = doing stuff
Monday = Update
Finally got stuck into the engine bay and oh boi was there some discoveries
First of which; the rad support has been used as a jacking point
The alternator has the wrong pulley on it
Fuel pressure vac sources are overrated
Why undo the primary oil feed when you can weld the pipe shut. The oil drain pipe can be tricky to plug so ill let that slide
Why replace a spade terminal when a tek screw exists
Why leave the forking crank vase breather open
Why buy proper coilovers with mounts for ABS and brake lines
I think i saved this car at the last moment before it exploded.
With the engine out i dropped the crossmember and front control arms
And swapped in my later model crossmember, Quick rack, 22m swaybar and rebushed alloy arms
Then let the poor thing breathe
There is a lot of oil in the inlet track and turbine housing. Id say entirely due to the blocked crank breather. Morons

You saving this car is an understatement!

Yep. Every boot in the front end was split.
CVs, ball joints and tie rods. Was being run into the ground and dying a slow death
In other news, GD intake manifold with associated bits and bobs purchased+
and a V7 STi (TGV less but has AVCS) intake manifold loom with from what i can make out from the Yahoo ad, only 1 year of use on it so quite the score

Tek screw is a proper forked idea. Time for a new knock sensor, probably drove the Tek straight through the piezo cell.
Why would you jack the car up using the rad support?? Do people have death wishes? Wonder how many times that slipped?
So many questions...
Cheers,
Ben

The tek screw is into the oil pressure sensor. So its not diabolical but just why
Stepping back in time slightly, notice the wooden bench in the back left of my shed.
Well its shit and just gathered dust and rubbish. So i pulled it out
Then moved my workbench and toolbox down. It made sense for them to be on the side when the car was reversed in like in the pic. But it hasnt been like that since it first came out of the shed
Then tore the front of the 208 down. Ive learnt my lesson and the trick to the cam bolts is to crack them while the belt is still on and you can hold the crank. Luckily the stupid allen head cam bolts didnt strip out but still needed my 1m breaker bar
Cam seals are dry and fresh so will be leaving those alone
The twin turbo heater pipes both head up and under the tmic. When theres no Y pipe on the back of the cooler thats fine but a the single turbo setup tends to rub through heater hoses after a while. I didnt have any single turbo engines left lying around, but i do have 25Ds which are basically the same. A quick slice through the welds holding the TT pipes together and the 25D pipe that goes towards the starter fits perfect
Also used the 25Ds primary oil feed blocking bolt
They really are just a way shitter 3/4 turbo engine thats NA

Are you going to be taking the TGV's off and putting in some phenolic (spelling???) spacers Nick? Or just winding them so they're full open and leaving it at that?
Also, do I spy some brembles in the background of one of those engine photos? Need some rear adaptors?

TGVs will go to Rising Sun Subaru to be gutted etc
Brembles are my fronts waiting for a rainy day. I have OEM Brembo backing plates and 190mm handbrake setup in Russia waiting for a similarly rainy day

You know the drill by now
Bought myself a shed light dealie. Noice
Manhandled the engine out into the driveway to start cleaning it
The amount of sludge was unreal
Came out ok. The dirt and oil is really in the surface pores of the alloy. Wouldnt come out with a wire wheel so itll have to do
Was hoping to swap the pump into my powder coated mount but some bright spark has snapped a bolt in the pump so it can stay where it is and hopefully it doesnt leak
With the engine clean i deleted the oil cooler modine dealie. Was leaking like a sieve and you need TS specific ones to clear EL headers most of the time. Not spending $300 on something like that
Also did some clearance and bending to use the GTB header tank feed with the GD intake as thats what i have on hand
With that out of the way i ended up playing with radiators
Attempted to mount the BH fans on the GC Koyo but they are a totally different design so would never work. Tried to fit the BH fan to the GC shrouds but the BH fan motor is slightly bigger and wouldnt fit without trimming. I should add the reason for the fiddling is GC fans are 3 wire (high and low speed) and BH fans are 2 wire. Ended up merging the high and low speed power wires together and swapping the 2 pin plug on. Thats probably not the right way and it should probably just be the high speed power wire connected but ill see what happens and do some more googling.
I pulled the coilovers out to sell for cash. Had someone 10 mins away offer a trade for OEM Bilsteins with STi pink springs. So now i have billies and pink springs
Also put the rays on the rear
Fitment is noice

Depends if the motors are the same and high speed = 2x low speed fans running. This i dont know
