Should have popped in Jesse.
No vids unfortunately. My Brother and I finished working on the car at 1am and had to get up at 5am to get out to Warwick, so really didn't have time to think of cameras.
I have a bloody lap timer app on my IPhone that takes video and I didn't even have time to set that up.

I would have but I had to drop off my mate at a job interview.

Next time you head out give me a holler and I'll come out and have a watch. How did she handle everything?

Hey Jase, yes just the one.
I will never recommend Mr Turbo to anyone ever. I just don't believe his ceramic bearing packs are up to the job.
It isn't an o-ring, its the anodised base plate.

Thats probably what he put in the bearing pack. Peas.
Now they are just mashed peas. I might go and get a pie for lunch now that you have mentioned that. :D

Garrett does not die like Mr Turbo rubbish cores.
Did a general practice day at QR, and the car went well. General practice so no timing but my mate timed me with his iPhone and said I did a 1:23.6 and that was the national circuit. Not bad for its maiden hit out at QR
One minor issue I thought was fuel surge because the car would lose power and feel sluggish comming out of corners.
However after around 2 laps the car cleared its throat and was a missile.
So now I'm thinking coil packs and/or wiring to the packs.
It's almost like the engine hit 110 oil temp and the problem disappeared so I'm wondering if anyone else has had coil packs that fail under load and get better with heat.
I've only ever heard they fail and don't get better. Jase, got any ideas?????

Curly one Frank as, like you said, it got better.

Are you sure it's not fuel?
Fuel is what you normally feel under the right foot where ignition normally misses/farts.

I have seen cars make great numbers on the dyno but on the track they fall over due to fuel pickup problems as there are no G forces on a dyno.
You're running a swirl pot, correct?

Areating fuel somehow?
Plenty of fuel pressure? (enough current getting to pump?)
Temperature related? (What, I have no idea)

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Are you sure it's not fuel? That's just it mate, fuel is the first thing we were checking for but I dont have an inline/incar fuel pressure guage that I can read when belting around corners.
Fuel is what you normally feel under the right foot where ignition normally misses/farts. It felt like it was running lower power and felt like power on 3 cylinders but never farting or missing.

I have seen cars make great numbers on the dyno but on the track they fall over due to fuel pickup problems as there are no G forces on a dyno.
You're running a swirl pot, correct? Yep, But it is a bit short and fat, instead of being tall and thin(maybe needs some baffling). I think the pictures are up here somewhere.
I'm also feeding it with a Bosch 909(high pressure) from the fuel cell. Maybe it's aerating the fuel and I should be running a Carter low pressure/high volume.

Areating fuel somehow? See above
Plenty of fuel pressure? (enough current getting to pump?) Yeah I'm pretty sure this bit is OK but I'll do some resistance testing. I dont think its this as it happens exiting a corner and when engine is under MAX load.
Temperature related? (What, I have no idea)I was clutching at straws.I dont understand how fuel surge would dissappear as I became more aggressive. I would have thought it remained the same or worsened.

Any way you can monitor fuel pressure and/or exhaust gas while you are belting around?
Passanger?

(I would volunteer to ride co-pilot but QR is a little far. :P)

Ha, nice Jase, come up with Alex he's due for another visit soon.
I pulled the passenger seat out and couldn't be stuffed putting it back in but I'll make an exception if your coming up.
I'd watch the wideband but i'm just going too hard and still learning the car to be watching guages until I'm on a straight.
My fuel pressure guage is under the bonnet and it's probably just as easy to remove the surge pot and get it baffled as a precaution.
What are your thoughts on the fuel pump to the surge pot aerating the fuel? Would a low pressure pump make much of a difference?
I thought if the fuel was being aerated in the first couple laps why after that would it change and not do it for the remaining 3-4 laps? Same thinking for fuel surge.
It's just wierd that the problem dissappears.

The fact that the problem goes away is what has me a bit stuffed. (that and I am thoudsands of Kms away and never seen the car. :P)

Interesing you are using a HP pump to feed the pot. Man it must shift some fuel in and out! Maybe a restrictor to drop the flow a bit?
I would think a low pressure pump that has more than enough volume to keep up with the max fuel load would be fine.

The fact that it occurs exiting corners (fuel moving in the tank and max fuel load) leaves me with nothing but fuel.

Does tank level make a difference?

BTW Im a fat forker so I will cost about 100hp and more than a couple seconds.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
