I could understand if you were driving a Liberty wagon/sedan. But an Outback...
but it's now a car with an identity crisis. I'd expect low self esteem and some erratic behaviour for a few weeks, until it decides what it is, Legacy or Outback.

Just in case you haven't done this, let me help

Be aware that globes in the AUDM garnish will be SUPER bright , so make sure you change them to appropriate brake / rear light spec, not blind everyone with fog light brightness.

How might you do that?

Mate ur Outback is fricken beautiful! looks tough nd just love those rims! what are they? (incl. size?)

went to ur profile, but no more pics in gallery :( -link me to anywhere uve put up pics please? :)

No more pictures, don't have a decent camera.
Wheels are (OMG, shock horror - they'll assplode on me and send me hurtling into a pre-school!!) Rota Grids, 18 x 9.5 +38 (but there is a 5mm spacer in the front to clear the Brembo's, so the front is +33), tyres are 235 40 18, so yes they are stretched abit, but still on the safe side, colour is Gunmetal.
Paint on them sucks, I never thought I'd be looking for touch-up paint for wheels...

You'll need to cut a hole out in the LHS. You'll find the RHS is the only one with a globe.

Can also use a hair dryer/heat gun as it's just a cap that has been glued over.
Heat it up and peel it off. Or, heat it up and cut the hole to the globe holder shape.

2002 Outback - it's gone...

Correct.
A standard 21w brake globe in the foglamp will be damn bright.

Also the additional 2 brake globes will double the current draw to 7 amps.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I've got bright LED's in the main stop/tail (where a bit of a PITA to find decent globes due the weird arse globe base) and less bright LED's in the garnish

Wired up the Legacy lights this afternoon.

Bought myself a multiimeter made the job so much easier :)

They come on when the tail lights are switched on and get brighter when the brake is depressed.

You'll need a Legacy garnish..!

I followed Luke's instructions here

You need to tap into the lighting wiring in the LH QTR panel (where the towbar harness plugs in - take out the jack etc, undo all the clips and screws to take off the trim).
Get a test light (or mutli-metre if your a fancy pants French man) and find the stop and tail light wires.
Solder one wire on each of them (mark them or use different colours so you don't forget) and run them up the QTR panel and thru the rubber tube/boot jigger into the tailgate.
Run it down the tail gate and across to where the globe is on the LH side of the garnish and join the wires upto the O.E JDM harness (which should already be earthed from factory), piggyback it across to the RH side.
Just jerry rig it and press the brakes, or turn on the parkers to see if they work.

Do your brakelights need counselling? :)

Loving the garnish. Good to see you sorted out those wiring issues. I should probably get myself a multimeter...
