i fill up the b4 when the low fuel light comes on. takes 48L and i've done 450kms. this is the same pretty much every time. no highway driving. seems to drop a little on highway driving but not much. the gen3 rx i had averaged about 9.5l/100km around town and 9.2l/100km on the highway. yep it doesn't drop much, i guess the high revs for highway cruising contribute to that. don't bother with premium in the n/a cars. i did in the RX for a while. economy was slightly better but it started like crap in the cold, it took up to 20 seconds of cranking! took a long time to work out it was due to premium. i remember reading of others with the same problems with their gen3's back then too.

My olds have had a 00 imp, a 00 foz, a 03 imp and a 06 foz. All N/A. Dad keeps meticulous fuel consumption records in all his cars (even down to knowing the economy of each driver- himself, mum, little bro and sis) and has always gotten around 15% better fuel economy by using 98/95 ron instead of 91..... but no noticable diff between 95/98. If you aren't getting better cons using 95 or 98 then the garage/s where your filling up are prob diluting their fuel.

You never drive more than 8km at a time?

Not really. Home to work is about 7-8km, and I usually stop at IGA on the way. The local supermarket/newsagent/chemist is 2km up the road from home, and I'm too lazy to walk. there's a steep hill to walk up, alright! :P
Plus I don't have a life.

Hi, I'm a fair bit north of that (well... not at the moment...) usually putting on 40k+ each year. Which I believe is about 800k/week? Cheers, Nik

Fuel economy is a funny thing! When I brought by OBK, the previous owner insisted I'd get more than 100km after the light came on. Today, 60km after the light ....... I ran out! (well, I stopped after the first cough) Fortunately just a short walk to the servo, and it started first go, so hopefully no damage. At least I know where my limits are. Whats this app you are using to work out mileage ?

Only 60?! I get between 100 and 150 after the light comes on! I average around 9.5L/100km I use 'AccuFuel' to measure my consumption whenever i fill up. There are heaps in the App store but ive found that one the best.

Not sure if my rs has the same ej25NA as the gen3's but I've been getting 8.3L/100km.
