whereabouts would this loom be different? any idea on how much of a problem it would be?

I am VERY eager to acquire and install one of these asap!

Would anyone be able to give me suggestions or point me to someone whether they are or arent on the forum in order to find one and to install it? Thanks! :D

Dude unless ur a wizz with wiring and looms id pass on this... The plugs are the same but the wiring is all different and would require u to repin everything...

Ive attached what the back of each looks like and u can only imagine how much would be required... Unless u can get the loom the the luminiscent cluster it would be a PITA as it would take at least a day just to figure it all out

Thankyou Sir!!! :) sent him a PM

V8 !????!? :0 holy fcuksticks!
link me to some specs or at least pics plzzz!

I looked at diagram for the cluster and I THINK (not sure) they use the same plugs. But, it may mess up certain things like VTD transmissions with VDC will have there own cluster set up where non-vdc & mpt transmissions have different lights.

Like the VDC has programmed in the 'Swerving car' icon, 'VDC' light, 'VDC OFF' light etc. The MPT will have a FWD light rather than the VDC light... gets confusing haha.

Spoiler came from NZ bru. Got it painted & fitted on Wednesday morning before work.

How much did the spray cost? ive got upcoming appointments ill need to make <_<

I FINALLY got around to buying a Varex muffler for my H6. Purely for sound.

All in all, very satisfied with the Varex. Very much recommended!

How much did this cost, if u dont mind?

Oh, and with the Monsoons; u said u got em for round 180 new from subaru.. i looked on ebay but they were a no-show, any idea if thats their technical name? or elsewhere i culd find them?

Thanks a bunch :)

Dan, you really gotta make it to one of our club meets mate! You can see the parts first hand as well as chat about them! :)

Monsoons are known as "Slimline weather shields" locally and "side visors" in Japan. The part number is #E610AE005 locally and 036-017-001 in Japan. They can only be ordered directly from Japan via Subaru Aus and I believe they cost $251 for the sedans. I could get them cheaper for you if you want to buy them new in Aus but its still gonna be damn expensive so best bet would be importing them yourself second-hand via ImportMonster.com.au

I can't remember how much painting cost but I got mates rates for that ;)

Exhust? Too much $$$ if you ask me. I think it was like $380 + delivery + $2xx for install. Obviously a normal muffler installation doesn't require the added cost of an auto electrician, but such is the nature of a Varex and I don't regret it one bit. Gotta pay to play!

Also Shiv, does your AT Oil Temp light come up during start up of the dash / car? My old H4 Legacy didn't but i'm wondering if the H6s do... last thing I want is an important bulb like the at oil temp light not showing up!

I'm not sure Matt, but I'll check it the next time I drive it for ya...

I know i know i really wanna get to one! :) is the next upcoming one the drive-in?

yea i really like the look those visors give, and they are practical too lol. far out so expensive for two strips of plastic/rubber, wat bs! and the sedan ones are more expensive -ha! more bs... lol.. ill look on importmonster, thanks :)

oh i thought Varex's were more expensive, thats not too bad i suppose but thats much down the track anyway once i get a FXT :D

Haha shiv you are making me jealous I've got an 02 h6 outback and I'm looking at doing a few things you have done to yours, I'm going to get a soundsystem installed very soon but I might look at the touch screen idea you've done, what was the damage on that?

Also, where do you order the rear spoiler for the wagon!!!!! They are sooo hard to find :(
Beautiful car by the way!

Hi mate, welcome to SubyClub and thanks for the kind comments :)

The touch screen head unit set me back $9xx. Its a brilliant system - the phone synchronises seamlessly and can even display text messages. I've got my 60GB iPod plugged in a port that lives in the glove compartment. Screen response isn't great on that system and you certainly can do better. Set yourself a budget and shop around.

You're right about the spoiler, they're almost impossible to find in Aus. I got mine from NZ, however I know a couple wreckers in Sydney who have the Japanese style rear spoilers with the integrated brake light. Personally, I preferred the one I got because its really subtle and kinda blends in without notice.

Not recently Morgs :( There was a white GTB spoiler (attached to a tailgate with Legacy garnish) which I recall telling you about, but that has been sold. There was also a set of Monsoons in nice clean shape however too has been sold. Will keep an eye out for ya though.

I can't remember how much I paid for the spoiler but it was reasonable even including freight from NZ. Paint was cheap as it was mates rates.

It's been sitting there for a while - long enough that the dog gets behind it and uses it as a make shift kennel that he can see out of...
I'm thinking $100 just to get rid of it.
