Just ordered the parts to do both right and left front lower arms - figure if one side is gone, the other isnt too far behind it.

Next phase of maintenance is a new set of hub assemblies, minus the rear left, as I've already changed that bearing. Still got bearing whine at medium to high speed, so will replace the others soon. Getting prices tonight.

New febest bushes are in - and I like the results. Turn in is simply amazing compared to how it was. Its twitchy as hell, but in a good way.

Still need them to bed in (liquid filled bushes need a new wheel alignment about a week or so after you put them in), but so far I'm impressed on how much of a difference its made. New hub bearings still need to be done, but I'll get there. So far, the old girl is slowly getting rehashed with new parts that have been needed for a while.

 

In other news, we're slowly finishing off the house and cleaning stuff up. Been busy as hell with working extra days and organising house crap, car hasn't been getting much love lately. Hopefully get some more time to tinker soon though.

I don't think these are the same as the ALK, as they are made to factory specs. I'm not exactly sure how the ALK bushes are different to the factory ones, but I would hazard a guess and say they are different.
As for the LCA bushes cracking, I'm not sure, I've never heard of it happening, but then I haven't been up with what can fail in these cars lately either. Anyone shed some light?

whiteline ALK has offset (from OEM) holes in the bushes -- giving more caster.

 

Wasn't your problem with rear suspension?  These are Front suspension, lower control arm, rear bushes. A little confusing, I know.

Wasn't your problem with rear suspension?  These are Front suspension, lower control arm, rear bushes. A little confusing, I know.

Wheel alignment was done a couple days ago. Much better than before the bushes were replaced, but no real noticeable difference to when they were initially replaced, but I'll bet my tyre wear will be better now the bushes are worn in.

Still got lots on my plate, hoping for a redundancy from my current job, which is why I haven't moved down to Ballarat yet. Hopefully know in a month or 2. It's a pretty dismal attitude out here at work at the moment with all the reshuffling. Not a good time to be in the mining game at the minute.

Will keep you all posted on what my movements are as I work them out.

Cheers man, would be good to have it all come together... Not sure if it will yet though.
Ballarat is coming, we got approved for a rental we have had someone look at for us yesterday, so come the middle of next month we'll be making the move (missus is on shutdown from the 7th to the 10th), unless the redundancy thing rears its ugly head and accelerates things.
So if I don't get one, I'll either be commuting to Roxby or getting another job down there that pays decently. Got my Victorian electrical licence sorted the other week, so that's one step closer to a local job.
 
As for Chris in Ararat, the missus is keen for a day trip to there, so I might just come up and do your HID levelling loom while I'm up there if that works... Anyways, have PM'd you.

Right. So unless BHP decide to give me a job and pull my redundancy off the table, I'll be in Ballarat as of the 19th. The B4 won't make an appearance until I finish off work at roxby, the ranger will get brought over loaded up on the 18th, maybe 2 trips depending on how things go. I'll then fly back to roxby for my last swing and drive old faithful back on the 28th. Things are finally starting to look up for me.

Well, question for all the Mexicans - how easy is it to transfer rego over from interstate to Victoria? I'll be needing to do this in a couple of months. Hoping the engine change doesn't raise any eyebrows... I've changed all the respective numbers over with motor reg, but should I expect issues?
