Narp...the outback is never going to be fast, so just dump it, and go for massive rims, gold sti wheels would look shite, they'd suit if it were all white, but not the two-tone scheme you're running atm.

Hell I like what you're doing with the car Sam, but if you're going to go custom look with the grill, debadging, deleted racks etc, don't go half-ass, and put OEM rims on.....go on, you know you want massive rims, AussieTemplar will help me out with this one.

The STI wheels on the outback is cool cause of what's behind the the wheels and under that bonnet in my books.

If your gonna keep it as a cruiser/ picture car go for some big offset/ stretch tyres etc.

You de badges your boot yeah? still got the outback badge? Could look good on my wagoon

You mean coilovers with "helper" springs?

I used to have those STi wheels sprayed black, got sick of them, but the car could go really low - like defect low.

Mainly to make the ride more comfortable and keep the main springs captive.

So they'd obviously be better for me as they are still adjustable, but more comfortable.

My wife's Impreza had helper springs in her coilovers, mine don't - I think mine where more comfy.

"Comfortable" depends on the spring rates, valving and where you set the dampening.

Ok. I'll have to do some more research on different types of coilover and what will be best for what I want.
I want it as comfortable as possible and able to adjust. Stiffness and cornering isn't as necessary as it's never gonna be a race car...

Yeah some wider/larger rims and lowerage will improve handling ten fold by lowering your centre of gravity and spreading the pressure over a greater surface, so in that respect you don't have to go to town on sway bars/strut braces etc.

Plus a thicker rear sway bar and I'll be all good I'd reckon.

What is a good set of cheapish, larger, wider rims?

They're not bad. Can I go as wide as I want as long as I have the right offset?
It'd be good to find a cheap 2nd hand set with tyres...
