A bloke I know was getting rid of his UEL headers so I snatched them up for cheap and put them on today.
Posted Image

I swapped the headers off his and also the 2 cat converters and swapped them with my stock headers and single cat and the pipe to the cat back.

Sound is SO much better.
Better acceleration feeling, better deceleration and is also quiter cruising at 80 and 100kph.
I'm absolutely stoked.

Just to get some convo happening.
Was given a heap of stainless steel pipes, silicon joiners and a pod filter for an in guard CAI today off a mate selling his gen3 liberty.
He wants it all stock, this the rear wing, strut bar, headers etc... I happily accepted the offer and we installed it today.
Looks quite neat, just didn't have a great deal of time so just threw it together, but I will be giving the engine bay a nice clean and detail tomorrow, painting the CAI pipes black (not powder coated but still better than shiny silver), and giving the car a solid wash and detail.

I noticed that after instaling the in guard CAI that the Idle was smoother, it accelerated more easily and deceleration was also way smoother. I'm pretty happy with it.
It also sounded a little better with the UEL headers and cat back. Especially driving at around 100kms.

Here's a pretty cruddy photo (taken with iPhone), just as the sun was going down. I will take a better one in the morning.

Badge in the bottom left (passengerside) looks the beat.

But a blue/white/pink/red Subaru badge in the centre would look sweet aswell

Yeah it is a little colourful in there. It's not my biggest concern though. The bonnet very rarely gets open. I'll just keep it neat and tidy and if ever I feel it VERY necessary I might consider forking out the extra money. Just saving for coilovers though. Trying not to spend on other things.

Btw chris have you got an idea what your going to be doing with your coilovers? I want them :)

Well, finally got some decent coilovers for the obk.
Tein flex for wagons off chris (SAV84C) (thanks mate).

Have lowered the car considerably, so that the wheels are about level with the gaurds... When I get a wheel alignment done I'll get them to check over it to make sure it's all good.
The only thing left to do is put back on some decent wheels and tyres, got a little sick of the old ones.

They feel just as soft as my old suspension, but you can really feel the road.
They are fairly springy also, so I might adjust the damper so I don't scrub.

Looking good. U didnt mess around getting them in. :drinks:

With the damper adjustments make sure you dont wind them all the way up or down coz you will damage them. I cant remember exactly how many clicks available. Check with Lance or Matt as they are both running Flex's in their libs

Thanks chris I'll leave the damper until I get the wheel alignment this arvo and ask them to give me a quick explanation on how to adjust things as this is my first time and don't wanna fcuk anything up!

I'd reccomend E-Go couriers for sure. Very prompt!

Any other suggestions for them?

LOOKING A BILLION TIMES BETTER DUDE!! drop the rears probably another inch more.. you're car has the same problem as mine and is lower at the front then the rear. this with some new rims will make your ride look so sweet! i suggest gold sti rims.

also: you reckon the headers have an improvement? i want to go down to an exhaust shop and get my headers put on cause im just not that mechanically capable hahaha.. also i wanna get a better exhaust note.

Thanks shiv, thanks everyone!
Hopefully some new rims will come soon, I'm liking the BBS mesh style ones maybe in an 18 or 19".

oztemp(forgot your name lol sorry)- I think it's low enough at the back maybe should go a bit higher at the front, not much but well see after I get new rims.
As for headers, I liked the ice cream at first, but the after taste sucks if you get what I mean. It does sound nice and all, but is very raspy and tinny and idles funny.. Maybe if you heat wrap them, they would be better on an NA?? Buy as mine are mild steel they would rot pretty quickly and that.

I'm very tempted to heat wrap mine and put a **** load of high temp silicone or paint on them so that water doesn't get in to see if I can get rid of the raspy sound and feeling.

Cheers
Sam

Ps, I have the headers on and also an in gaurd pod filter so that might have a little to do with it sounding raspy on acceleration. Hopefully you get what I mean haha,

Looks awesome Sam. I'd drop the back more. Unless the camera is on an angle or the driveway is down a hill, it does look like the fronts are lower?

Yeah the front is a bit lower at the moment. I have to do some adjustments as it is a little higher at the back left than the back right.. Will do it tomorrow.

On the hunt for some rims now!
More money and I'm not even playing with turbos yet.... Fwaaaaarrrrk...
