Have a quickrack of an 05 STI to try fit, alloy control arms of an 05 STI, and an STI steering wheel, of an 05 sti :P

I think you will find it wont fit (the rack). It is my understanding that the spline on the input shaft is different, so you will also require an 05 uni-joint, which means an 05 steering column too.

hmm I don’t know if the control arms will fit. the wheel (is the wheel an AUDM or JDM STI wheel?) will go on but you you’ll lose the indicator return functions and the horn is different. Probably not an issue if it’s a track hack anyway :)

As said above the spline is different, had this problem with my old conversion

You'd have to change the lot

I have an 02 sti uni/ knuckle and steering column if you go down that path

Watching this thread closely.
Looking interesting.
I have a VF23 that I was about to sell but haven't had time to post up.
Let me know if you are keen.

yeah the input shaft looks a bit bigger, ahwell. just have to find a GC8 one for cheaps :)

Matt reckons they'll fit with some angle grinding. I probably won't get a chance to have a look until the weekend now. yeah it's a JDM one, the horn doesn't work now anyway worst case it doesnt fit and i haven't lost any money on any of it :) Also looks like i've got some 4 pots and rotors lined up, So far it's just left overs from matt's conversion.

Today i took my grinder down with a wire brush wheel on it and cleaned up the rust spots on it. Was all surface rust, apart from one hole thats not even the size of a tic tac and another hole not much bigger then a pencil tip.

Gonna spray some fish oil in the holes, abit of body filler and some touch up paint and no one will ever know  but that will wait till the weekend. Will be bought back to dads place next week while his away on work and i have the garage free and i'll be swaping rear crossmembers and arms and shiz with whats on my old liberty (C-link type for sway bars), and hopefully instaling WRX seats or RS liberty ones.

Aek or Alex or anyone thats done or knows about a TT to T conversion; are you able to post up or PM a parts list or what you can remember? So far i've got a list of;

Turbo
Headers/up-pipe/dump pipe+gaskets
Manifold
under manifold silicon intake
oil lines
coolant lines that need to be changed?
Ecu
Loom modified for ECU
AFM
o2 sensor
intercooler

Thanks Mark

I'll have a look when i get the loom out, im not sure if power steering lines will fit up either. Could be less a PITA and cheaper to just buy a GC8 one from Ebay UK ;)

Did you get a chance to look for the cv shafts?

Cheers Frank, the build won't be as detailed as yours, just something to keep me satisfied. I want to get a list of parts i'll need before i start buying. When i do i'll PM you and see if you still have the turbo :)

sif you'd fit a dirty bush bearing turbo.

Mark,

Your list looks good so far. Re use your TT manifold. As long as you keep it coil-on-plug pack setup (superior to bosch imho) then you can keep the TT inlet manifold.

Buy Frank's VF23. Win.

yeah thats what grant (KNG02L) has on his RS and i'd be happy with that power :)

Cheers alex, i actually read that the other night, then found out i have an auto ECU, but still the mechanical side should be the same, and if i send the loom up north the wiring and ECU isn't my problem :P

SO the TT manifold would be right to use? this says to buy a different one..

A Version 3/4 STi ECU
A turbo. Such as a VF22, 24, 30 etc. From a single turbo subaru.
Single turbo Coolant supple and return lines. You can make your own
Single turbo Oil return line (rubber pipe) There is a pipe from the TT system you can use, but it's short and cut's things fine.
Single turbo Oil return line (Metal pipe in block) This will be one hard SoB to find, but you need it. Read stage 3 to find out more. (This pipe, to replace this pipe)
Single turbo exhaust manifold. A 2.5L equal length one works too, and offeres better fuel economy. But you won't get that boxer rumble ;)
Up-pipe
Downpipe. Caution: Some don't bolt up to the factory midpipe, such as the rage downpipes.
Single turbo gear box cross member. Needed if you get a bolt on DP, not if you make your own downpipe.
Single turbo up-pipe bracket. (the one by the turbo)
Single turbo intercooler Y pipe. Anything from V3/4 and 5/6 will work
If you get an STi intercooler with your y pipe, you need to find a V3/4 intercooler bracket, they are damn hard to find!
Turbo outlet to Y pipe hose
*V3/4 Intake manifold, complete. If you do not get a complete one, here is what you'll need for it:
*Idle control valve supply line (metal thing that goes on top of the manifold)
*BOV
*BOV Return line/rockercover breather lines (Don't forget the little rubber hoses that connect it to the rockercovers!)(it's a metal pipe hudden on the underside of the manifold)
Turbo Inlet/intake pipe
Crank case breather line (I had to make my own)
*Right hand fuel rail if you want to do the split fuel rail, more on that later
2 meters of vac line. You may be able to make do with the leftovers from the TT system. Budget for this anyway
*Single turbo solenoid bracket (This is so you can replace the BBoD)
*Pressure select solenoid (a 3 port solenoid from a single turbo, this is only to tidy up the wiring, you actually already have one in the BBoD that you can use - but it has a great big plug with like 15 wires.)
Bolts to block off the primary turbo's Oil supply, return and coolant return lines on the left hand head
Gaskets for:
Intake manifold
*Throttle body (only $3)
Exhaust manifold
Turbo/up-pipe
Turbo/downpipe

Thanks anyway :)

Not a bad day at work

Posted Image

Gonna paint the brakes red, with white on the 'SUBARU' cause it's heaps easy yah? :P

Talked to a local subaru wrecker/parts dismantler, They were helpful, but no actual help, they reccomended a halfcut, Although thats easier, i'd rather not go that way. It all depends on money though.

Just put a deposit on it :) Paul was pretty helpful, seems like a great guy!

Didn't think when i picked up the car it'd end up with a twist mount!! so i just need a turbo (hai frank) and some 440 injectors. But i won't worry about them for a month or two yet.

Still not 100% on getting a VF23 though, few things happening at work in Augest that if they work out for me, which they should, i'll be able to upgrade to a 6speed and rebuild one of the many EJ22 blocks i have with forged pistons and shiz. Read somewhere the 22B used a VF23 but.

Pretty sure i need to take up a second job for the next few weeks.

sounds like this wags is not only in good hands but also gonna get some serious attention towards it,

gonna be keeping an eye on this thread me thinks.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

haha nice one mate! i guess the single conversion will be happening sooner rather than later...can't wait to see how she goes for you.

also, i don't suppose you'd have a 93 liberty wiring harness laying around would you?
