Got bit done this weekend

Started it off with the most important thing to do to a AID infested TT nugget, Install an aftermarket BOV so bitchez no itz real

Posted Image

Thanks to Grant for that :)

Then installed some Alloy control arms of a GD STI, needed to angle grind the spacer in the bush down and it fitted up like a finger in a bum hole.
Fair weight difference between the alloy and metal, no idea if it will perfom any better though.

Used some Whiteline ball joint sway bar links thats i picked up a few years ago. You can also see how much i had to adjust the steering rack on each side around 8-9mm each side, i'll be getting a wheel and steering alignment when i've replaced enough suspension componets.

Had to pump out the gaurds a little too, it was easy when i dont care about damaging paint, as you can see by the tools i used :sarcastic:

Tried to fit a Version 5 STI short shifter, i'll need to modyfy a linkage at work tomorrow to make it fit.

By the end of the working week i should have the rear crossmember and links replaced with whats in my wagon other wagon, and possible the 4pots painted and fitted up.

:)

Good work. Keep it up.
I just so happen to have a set of 440's sitting around. :-)

Yeah dad bought it like 30years ago for spares. Ended up rusting away. Shame it was once in perfect condition.

Only worried about the rear now, it tucks the tyres and I can't get my fingers between them and the guard would your thing work?

You wind it out more and it pulls/flares the guards/quarter's too.

I rolled all the guards flat, then pulled them out abit.

I only just had a look at the link, it looks cool! was it hard to use?

So yesterday i was going to modify the shifter linkage bracket to fit onto the shortshifter, The short shifter stick was too wide to fit into the bracket, But then i thought "why not change the shifter stick" so a few minutes on the bench grinder and it fits like a charm. Since dad's away again for a week or so on work and i have the garage to myself i thought i'd use this chance to swap rear cross members etc. So Grant drove the car back for me, somehow we made it.

Got the car up on stands this afternoon after work and pulled out the rear end, Exhaust was uber *** and one whole peice from 200mm from the muffler up to the turbos, once again trusty angle grinder and cut that ***** in sections.

No special tools needed to be borrowed for that. Apart from the 3/4" socket set for the CV shafts, which i already had ;)

Some homo broke into my car today at work, as these were on my back floor when i finished

And 2 17" rexy rims.

BUT if anyone has and hook-ups for adjustable rear lateral arms, cross member bushes and shiz hook a brother up.

Matt can break into my car any time then if he leaves gifts like that :sarcastic:

Coming along nicely Mark. So instead of unbolting the exhaust from the turbos, you just cut it up? Nice choice lol.

Geez Grant, you make it sound so easy to unbolt it from the turboS

FYI i cut it just after it joins to the single pipe.

Nah I actually meant it was a good choice lol. If they were anything like the scale of difficulty on unbolting my dump pipe I would've chopped the fvcker up too :P

wow man... I'm so glad someone is turning my old waghoon into what it deserves to be...

i have to say though, as big as a POS it was, it was still sad seeing it drive away.

all the best mate, and make sure you take me for a spin when it's done...!!

Oh, and if you need a decent muffler for it, i still have an HKS Superdragger with mounts and 3 inch piping to suit a wagon, sitting in my garage.

cheers still got alot to do but it's getting better

Weekend update: Fairly lazy weekend on the car

I like the rear end better now it's all cleaned up :)
Posted Image

I was meant to buy some paint and go over the primer, and paint the 4 pots but it never really happened.

Will be runing some 17" rexy wheels too, eventually.

Posted Image

Much cleaner look IMO and with the offset they have i can increase the rear track to match it with the front :) although i may paint them a little darker...or green :P

It's been like a week geez! And I am only an apprentice!

6 weeks to full license and five 21st partys on between now and then.

Can it be done?
